While it looks like season eight may be the end for Psych, there’s some possible good news for fans of the USA series.
The cable channel ordered an eighth season of eight episodes back in December, well before the debut of season seven. When Psych returned, it did very well when compared to season six and it has continued to perform strongly.
USA has now ordered five additional scripts for season eight. If they’re produced, that will bring the season total to 13.
One tricky point will be explaing the absence of Maggie Lawson. She’s been cast in a comedy pilot for ABC that’s expected to be picked up. If it is, Lawason would reportedly only be able to film five episodes of Psych’s eighth season.
What do you think? Are you hoping that there are more episodes of Psych? Should it continue without Lawson or will her absence not make a difference?
This show keeps getting better. I’d like to see it go to 10 Seasons.
Think the Producer Franks is steady on the helm and the writers (Andy Berman, whom I would love to meet) keep showing brilliance (specially if your own and re-watch, to really take in the character dynamics and storyline development in more slow-mo. Because the show may seem so superficial on first viewing PSYCH is not understood, in my opinion because the writing, directing is so seamless. And Roday….can’t say enough about his acting.
The whole of the cast is so good!
Love Psych! Hate to see it end. As for Maggie…don’t buy any green bananas. ABC? Comedy? I’ll give it 3 episodes. My sincere thanks to everyone involved with Psych. Good fun. Great chemistry. Fantastic Family entertainment.
