SHOWTIME(R) PICKS UP CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED DRAMAS “RAY DONOVAN” AND “MASTERS OF SEX” FOR FOURTH SEASONS
LOS ANGELES, CA – AUGUST 11, 2015 – In the middle of their critically acclaimed third years, including an Emmy(R) nomination for Ray Donovan star Liev Schreiber, SHOWTIME has announced that it will pick up both of its hit dramas, RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX for fourth seasons. The announcement was made by David Nevins, President, Showtime Networks Inc. Both series will receive 12 one-hour episodes and will begin production in 2016.
“Both RAY DONOVAN and MASTERS OF SEX are signature series for SHOWTIME,” said Nevins. “They are emblematic of what SHOWTIME stands for – quality, premium programming that you cannot find anywhere else on television. We’re so proud to continue offering both series across all our platforms.”
RAY DONOVAN stars Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Liev Schreiber as LA’s best professional fixer, the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away. Season three finds Ray adrift from his family and those closest to him, while he focuses on his business and desires to be his own boss. Meanwhile, his father Mickey (Jon Voight, in his Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe(R)-winning role), who had narrowly escaped last season’s heist debacle, finds himself charting a similar course to build his own empire. Joining the show this season are recurring guest stars Golden Globe winner Ian McShane and Katie Holmes. The cast also includes Paula Malcomson, Eddie Marsan, Dash Mihok, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey and Devon Bagby. A SHOWTIME production, the series is executive produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff, and created by Ann Biderman. RAY DONOVAN airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Season three of MASTERS OF SEX is set in 1966 when the famed duo Masters and Johnson are dealing with the glare of the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled. Masters and Johnson’s work is having a profound impact on contemporary relationships, especially their own evolving three-way “marriage” with Masters’ wife Libby (Caitlin FitzGerald). Starring Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen and Emmy nominee Lizzy Caplan as real-life pioneers of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson, MASTERS OF SEX chronicles their unusual lives, romance and pop-culture trajectory. Masters and Johnson’s research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine. The series also stars Tony(R) winner Annaleigh Ashford. Guest stars this season include Emmy nominee Josh Charles, Emmy winner Allison Janney, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Beau Bridges, Tate Donovan and Emmy winner Sarah Silverman. The series is an adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love. MASTERS OF SEX was developed for television by Michelle Ashford (The Pacific) who also serves as an executive producer. In addition, the series is executive produced by Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Amy Lippman and Judith Verno. Dave Flebotte serves as co-executive producer. Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, Tammy Rosen and Thomas Maier serve as producers. MASTERS OF SEX is produced by Sony Pictures Television and airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

ray donovan is phenominal, you need to keep that on for several more years. you also need to bring dexter back that’s a very unique awesome show, I miss that badly
Ray Donovan renewed? Thrilled to hear this. This is the series where you can honestly say there is NEVER A DULL MOMENT! Glad it was renewed and I hope it does not lose any of its magic. I consider this one of those rare series that always keeps you on your toes with twists and turns among the plots and characters. Everyone in the casts contributes something unique. Acting is fantastic. Plot lines are often surprising and if something seems predictable- it somehow ends up still being exciting. How many shows can pull that off? Haven’t liked a series a… Read more »
