HGTV has some good news. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed Restored by the Fords and Home Town for new seasons.
Freshman series Restored by the Fords follows “home renovators Leanne and Steve Ford, who enliven older Pittsburgh-area homes with beautiful and unique custom designs.” Meanwhile, Home Town “stars Ben and Erin Napier who renovate homes in Laurel, Mississippi.”
HGTV has ordered 14 more episodes of Restored by the Fords and 13 more episodes of Home Town.

NEW YORK [Feb. 13, 2018] With the early ratings success of freshman series Restored by the Fords and with sophomore series Home Town continuing to hold its #3 position in its Monday 9-10 p.m. timeslot among upscale viewers W25-54, top 10 cable net HGTV has executed mid-season pick-ups for both series. Restored by the Fords, which delivered a 26 percent ratings increase above the HGTV prime average among viewers P25-54 in January, stars sibling home renovators Leanne and Steve Ford, who enliven older Pittsburgh-area homes with beautiful and unique custom designs. It has been picked up for 14 episodes. Home Town, which stars Ben and Erin Napier who renovate homes in Laurel, Mississippi, has been picked up for 13 episodes.
With a healthy bank of current series such as Good Bones, My Lottery Dream Home, Flip or Flop Vegas and Flip or Flop Atlanta – all headlined by charismatic experts – HGTV is well-positioned for success in 2018. The network also continues to aggressively develop new talent and series, most recently commissioning the following five new series in the home renovation genre:
· In Hidden Potential (13 x 30), generic suburban homes get a shot of personality as builder and designer Jasmine Roth turns the builder-basic houses in Southern California into gorgeous dream homes that have personalized layouts and standout amenities.
· Almost Home (8 x 60) features Dave and Jenny Marrs as they renovate historic homes in Bentonville, Arkansas.
· Saving Galveston (w.t.) (8 x 60) stars Ashley and Michael Cordray, a couple that rescues and renovates historic homes in the island town of Galveston, Texas. The series run includes eight one-hour episodes.
· Philly Revival (6 x 30) is a series that features Rachel Street, a Philadelphia-based real estate agent, general contractor and designer, who specializes in renovating century-old homes.
· Best House on the Block (8 x 30) follows Lauren and David Liess as they run a renovation and design company outside of Washington, D.C.
“We’re keeping our focus squarely on developing the kind of content that attracts new viewers and encourages them to sample the programming on our networks,” said John Feld, senior vice president, programming, HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country. “Even as consumers opt to view content on non-linear platforms, Restored by the Fords and Home Town are hitting the mark as HGTV’s newest ratings successes. The HGTV pipeline is solid as we move into the next quarter and beyond with dozens more new pilots and talent in development.”
What do you think? Have you seen either Restored by the Fords or Home Town? Are you glad they’ve been renewed?
HGTV is my favorite channel to watch. Some of the shows that I love are on TV opposite other shows that I like so I tape a lot of HGTV shows and watch them later. Some of my favorites include: Property Brothers, House Hunters, Restored by the Fords, My Lottery Dream Home, Love it or List it, Good Bones, and most of the Flip or Flop series. Will Flip or Flop with Tarek and Christina be returning to TV?
I love Home Town, Restored by the Fords and Boise Boys. It’s so nice to see some new content.
I absolutely love Home Town! Ben and Erin are both talented and enjoyable to watch! Please show some of the older shows while I wait for the new ones to come on….I’m having Home Town withdrawals
My wife and I are having the same withdrawal feelings. Love the show and Ben and Erin ! ! keep them coming. These two are a dream team and we really enjoy what they do with their projects, we learn a lot too.
“Restored by the Fords” is an excellent show as well as the new “Boise Boys”. I like all of the “Flip or Flop” shows but I especially like the one from the mid-west that has Uncle Mike in it. Can’t think of the name of the show. Also love “House Hunters” but seldom watch the international shows.
I really enjoyed the freshness of Restored by the Fords! I am puzzled why HGTV overkill’s on the same show over and over again, instead of putting Restored by the Fords or Home Town! It makes it very difficult to watch HGTV with their continual overkill of house hunters and showing the same non eventful shows! I am very pleased that the show is renewed, now PLEASE PUT THEM ON NOW!!!! Even if they are repeats! If I see one more House Hunters I will be sick! PS. I have HGTV on every tv in my house!
Great news that HGTV has renewed “Restored by the Fords” for another season. Love Leanne and Steve and their unconventional designs. Not only entertaining to watch, it leaves me with great ideas! Way to go you guys!
I love Home Town, best new show and Ben and Erin are adorable and so talented, please keep their show, its our favorite Monday night show!
Both shows are great! RBTF is my absolute favorite hands down! I predict the duo is the next big hit as far as design shows go for sure. I’m in love with their funky throwback style and I am a sucker for laid back surfer types. Way to go Fords! Super pumped for your encore!
Good show, but saw them painfully attempting them removing wallpaper. All you have to do is get a spray bottle and add some fabric softner and it will come off very easily. Don’t designers know anything? Haha
Very happy to hear this I lobe both shows!
I love both Home Town and Restored by the Fords but i am amazed by Leanne’s design she us very creative.
Thanks for renewing Home Town. I am enjoying viewing the home restorations and life in this small southern town. Thanks for keeping it real!
Love both Home Town and Restored by The Fords. So glad the have the have more episodes. Love, love, love both shows❤️❤️❤️
I definitely enjoy “Restored by the Fords”! The homes featured reflect the homes available in STL for restoration.
I will admit they peak my curiosity. A sister and brother who seem very laid back to the point that HE looks like a guy that can crash on your couch for a couple of days after a party he was not invited to. Both are very talented as a builder and a designer. I want to see more of them.
