The doctor is out. USA Network has decided to cancel their Rush TV show after one season of 10 episodes.
Rush revolves around a talented and handsome physician (Tom Ellis) who had it all — but then lost it in one fateful night. Six years later, he’s a private doctor who treats less-than-squeaky-clean clientele in Los Angeles. The rest of the cast includes Harry Hamlin, Larenz Tate, Odette Annable, and Sarah Habel.
Debuting mid-July, the first episode of Rush attracted 1.7 million viewers with a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Not a very good start. The numbers for later episodes went up and down and the season averaged 1.65 million with a 0.4 in the demo.
Satisfaction, another new drama, had very similar ratings and either show could have been cancelled or renewed. USA ultimately chose to drop Rush and renew Satisfaction. The defacto series finale aired on September 18th.

Very disappointing to see such a unique show leave so early. The characters were interesting and amusing. Writing wasn’t at peak yet, but it was a new show. Oh well…
Cancelled? Rush was great. What a dissapointment.
I am beyond disappointed that Rush on USA was chosen to be canceled. I don’t know if this is a publicity stunt or if it simply came down to a 50/50 decision and the wrong show was chosen. to further comment would be simply ignorant, for I am merely talking to a keyboard.

That is very disappointing. I was looking forward to learning what new adventure or travesty woul befall him. It was a good show with a great cast and an original premise. That’s a shame it has been cancelled.

last time i get hooked on a USA series. Rush was great. i watched Satisfaction a few episodes and couldn’t get into it. it was way too slow. USA made the wrong choice
