Animation producers (and spouses) Allison Abbate and Tony Cervone recently stopped by the Radio Rashy podcast to talk with animation writer/producer Paul Dini and his wife, actress/magician Misty Lee.
A lot of the discussion revolved around Abbate’s work on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie feature film but Cervone, who’s a supervising producer on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, mentioned the Cartoon Network series.
Cervone said, “There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”
At 2011’s ComicCon, Cervone and fellow supervising producer Mitch Watson teased that events in the pilot episode would pay off in the 52nd episode. We now know that will be the series finale.
One of the most recent episodes, which aired last fall, featured appearances by classic Hanna-Barbera characters Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Race Bannon, Doctor Benton Quest (Jonny’s scientist dad), and evil Doctor Zin. It turns out that Doctor Quest created the Dog Wonder!
Though Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated won’t be returning for a third season, it’s a safe bet that Scooby and the gang will return soon.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that the scho is coming to an end? What would you like to see in the last episode?
They cant do this to us fans! Especially after that last episode in Season 2, are they stuck in the different dimension? Do they ever get out? There is just too many questions left unanswered. They at least need one more series in this franchise, it would just be utterly awful if they stayed at only two.
Pleaseput back season three on please. You cant leave us hanging like that. What happens to them in the different dimension?!? Do they ever get back?!? How?!? Please show seasont threeu
Please do not cancel this show it is all I have to watch all other things are boring to watch but this show it is not like the other cartoons please continue the show!

OMG, no this can’t be happening *breaking down to tears :’-(* HOW UNCOOL OF THEM TO JUSST NOT RELEASE SCOOBY DOO MYSTERY INC. SEASON 3?!?!?!?!!!?
I like the mix of dark, eerie atmosphere, interesting characters and a goofy, but positive vibe. Its a combination I haven’t found in other tv series. I hope it returns soon.
i think the show is awesome please dont cancel it. I love it and I am 14.
I agree with Jordan that Scooby Doo shouldn’t canceled. I hate watching cartoons but watching watching this show is the best cartoon, but when the show canceled it I got frustrated. Jesa was right that cancelling the show is a mistake. So please reconsider cancelling the show.
I agree with everyone verysuspensful last show i seen just to end it on a safe note is a rong thing to do take a risk and keep going we all love it a story within a story got everyone on edge reconsider
My little brother and I really enjoyed this new side of Scooby doo. I am heartbroken to hear that it will not be returning for a third season. I really enjoyed the intense plot line. I urge you to reconsider the decision to cancel the show!
I completely agree with Jesa, canceling the Scooby Doo, mystery incorporated series is a mistake. I gotta say that after watching the first two seasons I was really looking forward to watching the following seasons and its mysteries. Please reconsider your decision.
“You”, those who make these kinds of decisions, are crazy if you don’t continue this new incarnation of Scooby Doo. I feel so cheated. Mystery Inc. is a huge upgrade to the art and story line of Scooby Doo, I’m 40 so I know these things, and you can’t cut a show short when it is just gaining momentum. You owe it to your past and future fan base, plus it’s so much fun to watch Scooby Doo with my four year old daughter. Don’t leave us hanging like this.
Please, continue this show.
Thank you.
Please don’t cancel scooby doo its a great show that deserves to be seen by everyone.
