Look out for more Shades of Blue on NBC. Deadline reports the network has renewed the Jennifer Lopez cop drama for a second season.
The first season of Shades of Blue premiered on January 7th.
The NBC cop drama follows Detective Harlee Santos (Lopez), a single mother who begins working alongside Lieutenant Matt Wozniak’s (Ray Liotta) FBI anti-corruption task force. The series also stars Drea de Matteo.
So far, the series has been performing decently in the ratings, with an average viewership of 6.85 million per episode. However, ratings have been decreasing steadily since the series’ premiered with over eight million viewers.
From NBC president Jennifer Salke, in a press statement:
We want to thank Jennifer, who is the hardest working woman we know, for her incredible efforts as both the star and producer of this show, as well as well as our other amazing producers and cast for all their tireless work in creating one of the most compelling dramas on television today.”
What do you think? Do you watch Shades of Blue? Are you glad it was renewed?
Great show! Glad it’s been renewed for another season!!
I am so happy they r gonna have a second series!!! Love this show it’s so good.
One of the best police dramas I’ve ever watched, Jennifer Lopez’s range as an actor really impressed me and Ray Liotta is awesome in his role as her “partner in crime”. So glad to hear it was renewed.
I totally agree with you Linda. The casting director chose great actors J.Lopez and Ray Liotta for the lead roles. The story line is very good and I can’t wait to see the next episode. So glad that this show will be renewed.
Best show on television so glad it is renewed
We LOVE this show in my house hold! Jennifer is amazing in this one- her character is super shady but she plays the part to the T. Ray Liotta is also super amazing in this show. The entire crew is pretty awesome. (Um, i cant stand the FBI guy). Keep this one going NBC!!!
Absolutely love it! The only disappointment is that the first season ended so soon! With all the cancelled shows we’ve seen lately, I’m happy to see someone had the insight to know this show is a WINNER! Congrats and good wishes from Canada!
My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, THANK YOU NBC for renewing this for season 2.
This show is great. I have to watch it for the next twist and turn. I am glad it was renewed.
Really enjoy Shades of Blue. Delighted there will be a season 2. Think Lopez is fantastic as Harlee. Ray Liota is outstanding. Also love the characters in the unit.
It’s so phony…A waist of time…I am very sorry their will be a season two .Needs to be canceled….
Dear Memo. I do not understand your taste in acting. The storyline is improbable, but the way the characters react and interact seems very realistic.
Love the show bring on the next season! Great acting by all especially Ray Liota
I love Jennifer Lopez in this new cop drama. Ray liotta had always been a fantastic actor and certainly helps make this show great. I hope they continue many more seasons.
I stopped watching about episode 5. I didn’t like the way the storyline was going and to cast Wozniack as a homosexual was ridiculous. I hope Ray Liotta moves on to something better this one isn’t doing him any favors. Jennifer Lopez is ok but just not crazy about the show. I don’t nderstand how it got renewed. Good luck with that.
I agree with pat casting Wozniak as a homosexual was ridiculous plus a killer just not happy with this show . I like Jennifer Lopez the show isn’t what I thought it would be . I hope shades of blue is cancelled.
My husband and I watch shades of blue. I’m very thrilled its getting a second season.
I also look forward to this show every week. Very different from any other cop show. Very intense and compelling. JLo is outstanding in it and casting very well done. Glad it’s coming back!!!!
I absolutely Love JLo. She is a great actress. Not sure I love her character but it does keep me coming back. I will be sooooo disappointed if there no more than two seasons. Ray is a great actor too. Don’t like his character either. I’m always disappointed to have to wait another week for the next show.
