What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Spike cable channel, The Shannara Chronicles stars Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko, Marcus Vanco, Vanessa Morgan, Malese Jow, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie, and Desmond Chiam. When season two kicks off, chaos has overtaken the Four Lands. With the population afraid of the return of magic, a body called The Crimson does not hesitate to intimidate anyone as it hunts down magic users. Meanwhile, in the wake of his losses, Wil (Butler) forsakes his destiny to become a healer. However, after the mysterious Mareth (Jow) saves him, he returns to the struggle.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The Shannara Chronicles on Spike averaged a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 246,000 viewers. Compared to season one on MTV, that’s down by 77% and down by 72%, respectively. Learn how The Shannara Chronicles stacks up against other Spike TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Based on the ratings, things already didn’t look good and then they started airing two episodes a night which smelled like a burnoff. The Viacom execs have been shuffling programs on their channels (including BET, CMT, TV Land, VH1, and MTV) so they may be okay with this big dip in the ratings as they try to establish the new Paramount Network. I’ll keep a hungry eye out and will update this page with breaking developments (and, hopefully, my supper plans). What is this? really what is this? this is the only thing I think about every time I see The Chronicles of Shannara. the only thing I think about every time I see The Chronicles of Shannara. And it annoys me, because the universe of the books is a marvel, but the writing is horrifying, and the actors horrifying. This show is by far my favourite.. Really hope there is going to be a season 3! I’d be really annoyed if it gets cancelled. Everyone will have there opinions an have different taste in programmes but alot of people love this show. Please don’t cancel! I’ll be lost on my Thursday night’s. You go by who watches on the tv when alot of people watch on netflix/streaming. So there’s probably more watching then what you an actually see! Really hoping for more great seasons.

Omg! Please please please give us fans a season 3. Ratings r down because it was poor management letting people knw the show had been moved from MTV 2 Spike. I only knew because I follow twitter accounts. MTV should have advertised with commercials. Or even on thier website. Don’t blame a great show 4 sum1 elses fail. I think it should go back 2 mtv as well. Or even CW it prob do great.
I really hope this garbage gets canned soon. I mean why choose a classic series like this then totally ignore and massacre the storyline just to make it YA teeny bop….Is Mr Brook having and end of life crisis or what? It’s just as bad as the Legend of the Seeker tv show.
its views are only down because it switched to spike which is in most companys premium package to watch
