CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS ANNOUNCES ‘SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED’ FROM MARTHA WILLIAMSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ‘TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL,’ MOVES TO HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES WITH NEW EXTENDED FORMAT
Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. She began her career in comedy with the producing teams for Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers and went on to write and produce situation comedies such as “The Facts of Life,” “Family Man” and “Jack’s Place” for all the networks before making the transition to one-hour drama. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
My husband and I both enjoy everything about the shows/movies. Keep them coming. We would not change a thing except we would ike more of them more often. We hope the cast, writers, etc know what a great job they are doing. Really love the cast!!!!!
Totally agree!
I think this was a TERRIBLE move!!!! They air one season on Hallmark to get us all hooked on the show, then they decide to turn it into a movie series but on another channel that many of us DO NOT get!! Some don’t have it at all & others can’t get it unless they pay more money out of their pocket to upgrade to a more expensive programming package with their cable provider. I think it was ROTTEN for Hallmark to do that to its viewers!!!!
Please go back to a weekly series….AND, DO NOT PUT IN LOOK ALIKES FOR SHANE AND RITA! THAT WILL RUIN IT!
Please reconsider going back to a weekly series. This is a great program. One of the best I have seen in years. The cast is terrific. Episodes are heartwarming
Please don’t stop making this program, I so look forward to it and love the cast and stories, its a wonderful series.
I enjoy each show of Signed, Sealed and Delivered. The cast of four are perfectly casted for this program. And the writing is the very best. It’s excellent writing that makes shows become successful. Please bring more!
I would like it to return as a weekly series. I really enjoy the shows. I prefer shows like these to regular TV shows. Some are really stupid and dumbing down our minds if we watch them. These are heartfelt caring shows.
I watched the first season of Signed, Sealed, Delivered on Hallmark and was disappointed when it was moved to HMM. I would like to see Hallmark move some material from HMM to the Hallmark channel after the first run of episodes or movies. As much as I enjoy reruns of the Waltons and other programs, it would be nice to see movies from the Signed, Sealed, Deliver series, or from Murder She Baked, among others.
I wish it would return as a series. It was one of the best I’ve ever watched.
we are very disappointed signed sealed delivered was taken off the hallmark channel.
1.SINCE THE FIRST COMMENT HERE FOR SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED (S/S/D) ON OCT. 6,2014, THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 800 MORE COMMENTS, & I DON’T THINK THERE WAS A NEGATIVE ONE IN THE BUNCH! 2.FROM WHAT I’VE READ HERE, ABBOTT & VICARY AT CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS APPROACHED MS.WILLIAMSON TO CONVERT FROM THE WEEKLY SERIES, TO SPORADIC MOVIE EPISODES. 3.I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THE THOUGHT PROCESS TO ONLY SHOW THE MOVIES ON HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES (HM&M), AND NOT ON THE HALLMARK CHANNEL (HC) ALSO, WAS A HUGE MISTAKE! THIS DECISION CAUSED A LOT OF FANS TO MISS SUCH A HIGHLY ENJOYED… Read more »
I agree with you 100%. This has been a frustrating process with no feedback from Crown Media. I stopped watching Cedar Cover at the end of season 2 because I was irritated with what they did with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” I am guessing others did the same because the series was cancelled. I was glad to see a new 2 hour movie happening this Sunday but as soon as they stop making those movies I am cancelling my Hallmark Mystery Channel.
THANX FOR YOUR REPLY, MARGOT. I HAVE FOUND IN READING BETWEEN THE LINES (AND A GUESS ON MY PART), THAT IT MAY BE A WAY FOR MARTHA WILLIAMSON TO ENJOY MORE OF LIFE & FAMILY TIME. REF. A PICTURE CAPTION IN 2015 ON HER FACEBOOK, SHE’S 60. REF. A COMMENT SHE MADE IN 2013 DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH WeLikeSoaps.NET, SHE WISHES SHE HAD ENJOYED THINGS MORE, FOUND HERSELF TIRED AND TOO BUSY TO RELAX, AND DURING THE SEASONS OF TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, WAS SOMETIMES WORRIED ABOUT NEXT WEEK’S SCRIPT. WITH OVER 2 DOZEN AWARDS, 9 TV SHOWS, AND 5… Read more »
Thanks Ed — for your information // authors, tidbits, small but important info, was just never my THING. Sad yes, I know, trivia was never for me // enjoy learning bits here and there, but singers names, authors names, even in high school just wasn’t important to me // now, when I watch , hear about, read about — now I go look and learn–love being able to search and find answers so easily now. That was the long version // the short one // thanks, had no idea this one lady was responsible for so many of the programs… Read more »
