A familiar face is returning to Star Trek: Discovery. Recently, Jonathan Frakes revealed he’ll direct on season two of the CBS All Access TV show, TrekMovie reports.
Frakes, who played Commander Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, directed episode 10 (“Despite Yourself”) of Star Trek: Discovery‘s first season. The latest installment in the Star Trek franchise stars Jason Isaacs, Mary Wiseman, Sonequa Martin-Green, Rainn Wilson, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, and James Frain.
At a recent convention, Frakes revealed he’s already read the first script from Star Trek: Discovery’s second season and will return to direct:
I just read the first script of the second season and the outline for the second script and it’s on fire now.”
Season two of Star Trek: Discovery is set to being production in April. CBS All Access has not yet announced a premiere date.
