Is Star Trek: Discovery already guaranteed a second season? Recently, CBS chief Les Moonves discussed the upcoming All Access series, Deadline reports.
Earlier, Moonves explained why the premiere date for the highly anticipated show was pushed back from early 2017 to May, saying the creative team needed more time to produce something worthy of the Star Trek franchise.
At a recent conference, the CBS chief revealed Netflix has purchased the global rights to Star Trek: Discovery. He noted that the sale “more than paid for the entire cost of the show,” meaning there’s a good chance there’ll be a second season. The series will still air on CBS All Access in the United States.
While few details about the series have been released so far, showrunner Bryan Fuller did reveal Star Trek: Discovery will feature a female lead, a gay character, and be set in the years before the original 1960s series.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Star Trek? Are you looking forward to the new series?
