TV show description:
A music business drama, the Sun Records TV show unfolds in Memphis, Tennessee, during the first turbulent years of the Civil Rights movement and the birth of rock ‘n’ roll.
Sam Phillips (Chad Michael Murray), shepherds young musicians Johnny Cash (Kevin Fonteyne), Elvis Presley (Drake Milligan), Carl Perkins (Dustin Ingram) and Jerry Lee Lewis (Christian Lees). These up-and-coming white musicians combine hillbilly country music, with the ’50s R&B sound of African American artists.
Drawing on the seminal works of Muddy Waters, B.B. King (Castro Coleman), Fats Domino, and Ike Turner (Kerry D. Holliday), these artists made musical history. The series documents them, as they rocket to fame. Meanwhile, the nation is swept up by political changes and protests.
Series Finale:
Episode #8; “Finishing School”
First aired: April 13, 2018
Colonel Tom Parker (Gardell) presses to take over Elvis’ career, but Sam struggles with the decision to let his star go. Jerry Lee’s philandering catches up with him, and Johnny Cash (Fonteyne) starts his own band. (Courtesy CMT.)

I was really starting to get into the series when it ended. We hope it will be renewed another season. Good cast and very nostalgic.
This show is great. I have found myself doing research about the people and the music ever since I started watching. Please keep this show going. It is both educational and entertaining!
I love this show..Having grown up in this era I find myself running for a snack and making sure I didn’t miss it. I rarely watch Tv but I will not miss an episode of this!! I love it! RENEW..PLEASE
Keep it going!!
Do not stop showing Sun Records. Are you nuts to think you should cancel it. It’s like history to me.
RENEWED!!!!!!!!
Please renew this show. There are so many directions it could go. It is wonderful! Elvis was just getting started and jerry and johnny hadn’t even hit real stardom yet. Barely even showed Carl. WE NEED MORE!!!
Renewed most definitely!
Love this show. Need a season two
I vote bring it back. It’s an interesting setting and an interesting era. I thought the actors portraying Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis were particularly well cast.
I love this show. I grew up in the 50’s and was listening to all this type of music and dancing the jitterbug, twist & of course, the slow dancing. Our school sponsored a “Teeners” dance every Saturday night and we packed the gym.
Please don’t cancel this series. I love the characters, too. The show also brings
back a lot of memories. I still listen to the “50’s” cds especially when I drive my
red convertible with the top down. So much fun!
