The CW has been having some great success with DC Comics superhero shows. Now, CBS has gotten into the game with their own entry — Supergirl. While Arrow and The Flash fit well with rest of The CW’s programming, Supergirl seems out of place on CBS, a network known for older-skewing procedurals. Will the new series soar in the ratings or will it crash? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Supergirl revolves around Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). As a girl, she survived Krypton’s destruction by being sent to Earth where she was raised as a human. She kept her powers a secret and now, as an adult, works as an assistant at a big city media conglomerate. Kara’s existence becomes known to the world and she is enlisted by a super-secret agency to help protect the citizens from evil forces as Supergirl. The rest of the cast includes Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, and Jeremy Jordan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: Supergirl has been renewed for a second season but is moving to The CW.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Supergirl TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please Renew supergirl!
In season 1 the show was great as well. the characters are excellent so is the writers
Why would CBS cancel supergirl it is a excellent show supergirl took over where Smallville left off besides that Smallville was on the air for 10 years
why would they cancel a good program like this when the hoorible Smallville program lasted 10 season?
Smallville was on WB which became CW. A show doesn’t need as big of an audience to be successful there.
A great show for the family
Please renew Supergirl for season 2

No where near as good as flash
This show is my second favorite show on tv. My favorite is The Flash. But I don’t know what I would do without the Supergirl show. Like The Flash it has a lot of heart and soul. It’s chalked full of wonderful life lessons and just plain fun. I love the acting, I love the show. Please…please…please renew this. It would be just plain cruel if you didn’t. It means soooo much to a whole lot of people including me. Keep the dream alive, keep Kara soaring high for me CBS. I know you can do it. Please find it… Read more »
