The CW has been having some great success with DC Comics superhero shows. Now, CBS has gotten into the game with their own entry — Supergirl. While Arrow and The Flash fit well with rest of The CW’s programming, Supergirl seems out of place on CBS, a network known for older-skewing procedurals. Will the new series soar in the ratings or will it crash? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Supergirl revolves around Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). As a girl, she survived Krypton’s destruction by being sent to Earth where she was raised as a human. She kept her powers a secret and now, as an adult, works as an assistant at a big city media conglomerate. Kara’s existence becomes known to the world and she is enlisted by a super-secret agency to help protect the citizens from evil forces as Supergirl. The rest of the cast includes Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, and Jeremy Jordan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: Supergirl has been renewed for a second season but is moving to The CW.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Supergirl TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
we like the show -give it more time …
I watch Supergirl with my grandson every week. It’s well written
I watch this show with my granddaughter every week. It is well written and provides a wonderful empowering message to girls. Save the show!
Not quite sure why people keep saying that Supergirl is a great show, ratings keep dropping week after week, so far it has lost more tan 50% of its viewers.

Mike
I’m with you. Clever writing and good character development. Love the fact that they show aliens “just trying to fit in and do the right thing”. I sure hope it is renewed
I think the show started out well and may the show continue
CBS, the CW, and filmmakers need to stop this trend of ******** around with characters that have been around for decades. If they change them, then stop calling them by their comic book names.
I love this show! It had a rough start but its ben getting progressively better. The only thing I wish is that they wouldn’t keep everything into one episode, that they would keep the conflict going for 1-3 episodes and then resolve it. I love this show, I’m 14, my friend loves this show and she 13. It great to see a show with a strong female main character.
I think the show started out well and has improved each week
One of the best show on television. GREAT actors and actresses
