The CW has been having some great success with DC Comics superhero shows. Now, CBS has gotten into the game with their own entry — Supergirl. While Arrow and The Flash fit well with rest of The CW’s programming, Supergirl seems out of place on CBS, a network known for older-skewing procedurals. Will the new series soar in the ratings or will it crash? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Supergirl revolves around Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist). As a girl, she survived Krypton’s destruction by being sent to Earth where she was raised as a human. She kept her powers a secret and now, as an adult, works as an assistant at a big city media conglomerate. Kara’s existence becomes known to the world and she is enlisted by a super-secret agency to help protect the citizens from evil forces as Supergirl. The rest of the cast includes Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, and Jeremy Jordan.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/12 update: Supergirl has been renewed for a second season but is moving to The CW.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Supergirl TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The show is awesome with the actors and actress which make the show great cast
The crossover had hugs, cupcakes, and ice cream. What more could you want in a superhero show?
Please save the show it deserves more than even 2 seasons. Some people should just give it some time to see how Amazing this show is

Me and my mother always watch this show every Monday. And I watch it with my Father when he has time. I Really hope they get Season 2
I was very disappointed with the most recent show on 3/28. Very weak plot and bad writing. Supergirl getting rescued by fireman putting out the electric power on livewire? Give me a break. The show doesn’t need any more super bad people. Develop the ones you have. Also, develop the great storyline you put our in the 3/21 episode.
I will be looking forward to the next episode and next year.
My 11-year old girl loves this show. It’s the one thing the whole family can watch. Maybe they’re marketing to the wrong audience.
The show is great and the writers are excellent every body loves to watch the show
