When it comes to scripted TV shows, Syfy has had both hits and flops. Which of the current series will be cancelled or renewed for another season?
Syfy execs consider a lot of data when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series, but ratings are a major factor.

A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.

I have watched Defiance since the start of series one and think it’s quite the most imaginative and well directed sci-fi series for years. It will be most disappointing if it isn’t renewed this time. Hopefully, others will agree and this will affect the decision. . . .

Defiance STILL has higher ratings than Dark Matter and Killjoys ! If anything Dominion and Defiance deserve to be renewed on that merit alone. NOT included are: The SALES of BlueRay and AMAZON, iTunes, and Google Play. I purchased Season 1 on google play, Season 2 on iTunes, and season 3 on AMAZON. AMAZON Prime Video is excellent quality and very reliable. iTunes downloads and is most portable, Google Play works great on my Android Phone (so does AMAZON now). I agree ! Defiantly the Most original show on, Great story lines, and so many Interesting Characters ! Please reconsider and bring us season 4 of Defiance !
Very nice ideas about season 4, I’ve been thinking about a few of them such as Irisa getting with Alak and Nolan hanging out with Yewll in space. And what did they do with her clones. What’s Nolan eating or drinking up there? I’d love an amazing goddess book as well, even if it is “trash” as Irisa says lol. I would love shirts and hoodies or even just stickers. I really think Dominion is a good show, the 2nd season moved the show into a place out of Vega and that I enjoyed. The very fact that they are bringing Lucifer into this is fantastic and I was hoping they were going to do this. Yes, this is a show that can go on and on, but isn’t that what should happen? If really Doninion has good ratings will be renewed, i´m pretty sure. If not…well the fans should have a good clousure. But if Dominin is such fantastic the ratings won´t fail, i´m pretty sure.

after this next dominion 9/17 if they pull that same lame BS it will be the last i watch it,. its like their stuck in vega waiting for an attack that never comes., this show was so promising in the first 2 epp., its gone down hill from their. & bad men seam to win every week., hey writers grow a pair.?? give the good angels a win. writers on this show SUCK.
I´m agree. I´m affraid Dominion is trapped in a war and in a plot endless. The creator spoke of 7 seasons!!! Come on, 7 seasons for that the angels wins or Alex ends with the war? Now this season will end with the misterious thing of Lucifer in Mallory, and all Vega destroyed. That writing just sucks, indeed. They had such oportunities of create something broken and anything has happened.
We need a finale.

I just hope that at last Defiance can have a new renew. the ratings are much better than Dominion, that´s the bitter truth.

I LOVE DEFIANCE!! I really hope that SyFy will renew for season 4. Last year they waited to renew it until the 25th of Sept, so I’m hoping that they are just being slow again. I’ve tweeted & posted on their FB pages (syfy & defiance) to renew it. I suggest anyone who wants another season to do the same thing. Even contact them off the syfy website.
I also watch Dominion, but yeah..it’s moving at a snails pace. Sometimes I skip a couple episodes just to watch them later to make the story seem like it’s still moving forward.
Well i think that Dominions is reaching its own finale very soon. Syfy has renewed two shows, Dark Matter and Killjoys, and Defiance´s an unknown fate. Is truth that Defiance´s finale in season 3 had a clousure great, but i would like see its evolution at last a season 4. Dominion was an amazing show in season 1. but in the finale of this season, the shows started to out of steam: to growing up very slow. And the season 2 is being a lot of very slow and tedious. People need to realize 2 very important things about television. A.) it’s a business like any other. B.) Just because you like something doesn’t make it the best show on TV. So, while i’m glad both Dark Matter and Killjoys have been renewed I would NEVER call them the best shows on TV… and they’re infinitely better than let me see… everything SyFy curns out… that’s my opinion… I’m glad they are actually running shows about hard Sci-Fi that happen in outer space. I´m agree with you, and in addition i think that we must to be realistic. The Dominion´s plot is endless, i feel the series trapped in a place where they can not to be saved. All pretends to be so apocalyptic that seems not real, but artificial and meaningless. The writers seems a little lost in this point. And the main character seems useless, he is not making anything , are others who make all his work. Really we have two seasons or “Legion´s” plot´s sequel and we have not anything. okay the current ratings these execs are looking at are in accurate they only acount for people watching these shows on cable TV wich only accounts for about 1/4 of yer total audience there are so many fans of these shows that dont pay for cable tv and choose to only stream and if they cant find a certain show available thru those means they resort to torrenting
I love Defiance, and really want to see it come back. Its the show that is most “epic” in quality in the way that BSG, Stargate, Bablyon 5, & Andromeda were in the past. I worry as the finale for the season certainly had a series finale air about it. I really enjoy Dark Matter. Yes the writers slipped up on occasion, but its setting gives great potential for varied storylines, as does the ensemble cast. I understand how you feel. I don’t credit Syfy or NBC Universal having a lot of walking around sense when it comes to good quality programming. I mean, can you say Farscape? Stargate SG1! Listen to the people who actually CARE. About the programming. Why not cancel one of those “reality” shows? That would make more sense.
you hit that on the head.,farscape & sg1 were great shows, farscape was so much better than all that crapp they show. syfy is so blind they cancell it after 4 seasons,. they dont care about the viewers, i my self buy the DVDS or BLUERS if they cancel dominion. i will not watch syfy again. they have no loyalty to the fans.
still a great show, its just writers are slow on action. viewers want more enough of julian already.
Dominion…the only TV show worth my time. I dont watch any other shows even from other channels…
