Will there be a second season of The Alienist? Recently, the cast spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the future of the TNT TV show.
Based on the Caleb Carr novel, the historical drama centers on Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl), an alienist, i.e. a criminal psychologist, who helps investigate a serial killer preying on boy prostitutes. The cast also includes :uke Evans, Dakota Fanning, Brian Geraghty, Douglas Smith, and Matthew Shear.
Season one of The Alienist already wrapped, but will TNT renew the series for season two? Luke Evans says the cast would happily return:
We all got on very well, and I think it was a very rewarding experience for all of us as actors. We’re very proud of what we’ve created. It was a limited series, and we’ve done the whole book, but if asked to go back, I think we’d all quite happily say yes.”

Yes, make a season two…I loved this series as it’s well written and smart, mature and interesting; with the delving into the killer’s mind and motives. So many shows are dumbed down, poorly written programs for people with short attention spans or are mindless reality shows. The Alienist sucks you in, you can’t stop watching it and you couldn’t wait for the next episode. YES, MOST DEFINITELY. IT WAS A SLOW BEGINNING BUT PICKED UP. IF VIEWERS WOULD HAVE CONTINUED PAST THE FIRST 2-3 SHOWS THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT.
WHY DOES THE MAJORITY OF VIEWERS WIN OUT ON WHAT IS TO BE SEEN. WHAT ABOUT US THEY GET HOOKED ON THE SERIES ONLY TO GET DISAPPOINTED BY IT CANCELLING. IF YOU HAVE NUMBERS OF VIEWRS YOU SHOULD CATER TO THEM ALSO.
IM TIRED OF THIS ALWAYS HAPPENING AND HAVE BEGUN BOYCOTTING STATIONS WHO HAVE DONE THIS IN THE PAST REGARDLESS OF WHAT NEW SHOWS THEY MAY INTRODUCE

I’ve had fingers crossed to see more seasons of Alienist since the finally ! The cast , writing , dynamic of the characters .. was exceptional ! Who wouldn’t want to see more of this show and its ensemble ? !
