Don’t bother unpacking your suitcases Jeff Probst and Phil Keoghan, Survivor and The Amazing Race have been renewed for next season.
Though viewership has fallen over the years, Survivor is still quite popular. Last fall’s Samoa edition won its timeslot with a 4.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The show’s upcoming 20th edition begins February 11th and will reunite memorable players from the show’s 10 year history.
To no surprise, CBS has given the go-ahead for two more rounds of the Mark Burnett show. As per usual, one will run in the fall and the other will begin airing mid-season.

The Amazing Race recently completed its 15th cycle and posted year-over-year gains in total viewers and the key demographic. Round number 16 is scheduled to begin February 14th.
For now, the network has renewed Amazing Race for a single cycle for the 2010-11 season. CBS often airs two rounds per season so another may still be ordered.
What do you think? Are you glad that Race and Survivor are coming back? Which one do you prefer?

Both shows are great, about the only thing worth watching on tv,
I would like to see Survior moved to Monday or Thursday night.
Love both shows and can hardley wait till they are on again
Both the hosts are terrific
A group of us, 8, have watched every episode together! since night one…we cook dinner and sometimes even keep with the theme~! We have loved it and hope it continues for years to come! We are all mid50’s – early 60’s now. Suggestion: perhaps let the audience vote on who should win!

I watch Amazing Race cannot be bothered about Survivor in the least.
Amazing Race all the way, it is the best show ever, and I have watched all 17 seasons, and watching the 18th season rabidly. A show with intelligence, interesting locations, suspense about who will come in last place, and just overall fun and great competition!
No wonder its viewership keeps increasing!
I love both shows and always look forward in the evenings to watch them. They are always full of excitement and both have tantalizing challenges. Both are always fun and entertaining, too. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Put Survivor back on THURSDAY nite where it belonged! Whatta PITA on Wed – Dumb time slot. What exec was the monster-brain behind that move?
Good to see PK back for another year tho on AR- It’s one of the few shows that’s suitable for ‘family’ viewing these days. A lost art among network suits.
I don’t watch Survivor, but have been a steady watcher of the Amazing Race for the past 8 years or so. Got all the excitement that a 78 year old man needs these days.
Same here The Amazing Race is my window to the world. Love the show never miss it, if I do miss it, on to the internet CBS. It’s a great way of understanding the countries and their cultures in just an hour. I just hope CBS doesn’t cancel this show, I could handle the road blocks. don’t want to see a Dead End.
What were you thinking? It’s bad enough that you went to Wednesday nights but to go up against American Idol? I’am truly dissapointed.
The best reality shows ever. Please keep both Survivor and Amazing Race going for a long long time. We tape them all the time so that we don’t miss even one episode. LOVE BOTH SHOWS. Thank you
