The second season of The Exorcist wraps tonight, December 15th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Are you a fan? Do you think FOX should renew the series for a third season?
Based on the 1973 feature film and William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel, the horror drama follows Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and former priest Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) as they uncover unusual cases of evil. The cast also includes Kurt Egyiawan, Zuleikha Robinson, John Cho, Brianna Hildebrand, and Li Jun Li. Christopher Cousins, and Cyrus Arnold.
Based on the ratings, a third season of The Exorcist would be surprising. The series landed a surprise second season renewal last May because the first season’s ratings had been dismal. Season two has done much worse. So far, season two is averaging a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 1.33 million viewers, making it one of FOX’s lowest-rated TV shows for the 2017-2018 season.
But ratings don’t always determine a show’s future. Like last year, FOX could give The Exorcist another chance.

With “The Exorcist” films series kind of fizzling out, it was SUCH a breath of fresh air when Fox did the tv series! I haven’t been this loyal to a series, since NBC’s “Hannibal” series, and I was sorely disappointed that they canceled that show. Please Fox, renew “The Exorcist” for a 3rd season! It is too good to cancel.

If Fox bothered to put ANY effort into marketing it the results would be much better. It’s a fantastic horror TV show, perhaps the best ever, and certainly way better than American Horror Story, which is promoted to death by FX, and has been pure crap for at least the last 3 seasons yet it keeps coming back.

Renew, renew, renew! It is an absolute gem of a show with so much more to tell. The acting, script writing and cinematography all scream top class. It’s not just a horror show – it’s so much more. It makes for compelling viewing, and it would be criminal if it were not to be renewed for a 3rd Season.
