It was a very disappointing debut for this high-profile legal drama. In addition to the weak cumulative ratings, the early numbers indicated that many viewers tuned out as the two hour premiere progressed. Fewer people are expected to watch the next episode and The Firm already can’t afford to lose any viewers.
Compared to The Cape’s premiere one year earlier, the peacock network is down by 46% in the demo and 25% in total viewers. The Cape fell to a low 1.2 in the demo before being cancelled by NBC.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The Firm TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I LOVE THIS SHOW! PLEASE DON’T CANCEL. THE WHOLE PLOT OF COMING OUT OF WITNESS PROTECTION IS NEW AND EXCITING. I CERTAINLY HOPE A GIFTED MAN STAYS. IT HOLDS YOUR ATTENTION AND LETS YOU INTO THE DAILY GRIND OF TRYING TO GIVE MEDICAL HELP TO THOSE WHO CAN’T AFFORD IT.
Seriously I agree, cancel the good shows, and leave the mindless comedies and dribble on. No wonder our country is full of mindless wonders. Any decent show falls to the wayside and shallow shows take their place.
I cannot think of one GOOD reason why THE FIRM would be cancelled. Great plots, fantastic actors, with a show’s design from beginning to end that makes it unique, interesting, and a desire to WANT FOR MORE! IT’S A KEEPER!
I really enjoy watching “The Firm” however I have to agree with many of the previous posts about changing days with zero notice, how do they expect us to watch if we don’t know when it’s on? It’s a shame the ratings are so poor but i’ve now come to expect it with anything non-reality, look at “Lie to me”, “The Event”, The Defenders and “In plain sight” all were excellent programs in my opinion yet their all canceled and look at the trash that’s left? I find it hard to believe that i’m that far removed from the main… Read more »
One of my favorite shows! They didn’t give it a chance, just like Chase. I will miss The Firm and Josh Lucas.
I also enjoy watching The Firm and would hate to see it go. I guess some people can’t comprehend actually having to watch a show and pay attention unlike these immature so called comedy satires that you can watch with half a brain. I hope another station picks it up.
I love the Firm … Other than Friday ..Thursday is the day I look forward to at 9 pm to watch the Firm. It’s getting more intense don’t cancel it. Too many not so good shows out there getting high ratings and the best show of all gets a D- …seriously!!!!!!!
I love this serie! Love it, love it!
Hope it’ll keep on going. Great characters and interesting stories.
It was a great show. Finally, a smart, complicated story that made one pay attention in stead of some mindless reality show. Too bad, I’m back to listening tto radio. Not much to watch to keep me interested.
I must agree with the previous comments. This is one of the best shows to come along in a while, and IT’S NOT REALITY!!! It’s well written, based on the works of a well-established novelist, and is well acted – especially by Josh Logan and his fictitious brother (sorry, I don’t know the actor’s name, but he’s terrific). Let’s hope NBC comes to its senses and reconsiders cutting this exciting drama.

WE LOVE The Firm !!! It would be a HUGE disappointment to my family if this show is canceled. We all enjoy watching the show together. We enjoy the suspense and the plot lines. The Firm is contagious !! Please do not cancel the show it is far superior to any of the other shows
As others have mentioned The Firm is certainly a better show than some of those inane comedies on CBS and ABC…..not that NBC does not have inane sit-coms, but the networks should sometimes take a stand and promote the good drama shows…..it worked for others…..maybe TNT could pick up the production of such shows such as they did with Southland…..Reruns are big hits on USA and they also have first run dramas which are intriguing and worth watching…..maybe that is the way The Firm should go……
This is just unbelievable! The Firm, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, and The Gifted Man are such great shows and all of them are in danger of being cancelled. Junk shows are getting A +. What is going on? Do people actually want to see mindless plots and idiot shows?!!!
Great show. Need more like it. One of the best shows out right now. Love how it leaves you with the cliff hanger at the end. The show has meaning. Keep it on the air. Canceling this will be a big mistake.
