It was a very disappointing debut for this high-profile legal drama. In addition to the weak cumulative ratings, the early numbers indicated that many viewers tuned out as the two hour premiere progressed. Fewer people are expected to watch the next episode and The Firm already can’t afford to lose any viewers.
Compared to The Cape’s premiere one year earlier, the peacock network is down by 46% in the demo and 25% in total viewers. The Cape fell to a low 1.2 in the demo before being cancelled by NBC.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The Firm TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Love the show. NBC does this to a lot of great shows. They never give them a chance. I know a lot of people who don’t watch any shows on nbc because they are most likley to be cancled.
It’s the networks fault not the tv series!!!!
This is an excellent show. I don’t understand why NBC didn’t give it a chance in its Thursday time slot. This show will gain viewers, just keep it in a decent time slot.
This is a great show. For the network to put it on Saturday is almost certain death. I think it needs more advertisement. Great stories and the characters are superb. This drama should honestly be nominated for an emmy as well as the perfectly chosen actors. Please give this show a chance or if NBC cancels, please let someone else pick it up.
I love The Firm!! This show needs to be advertised better. One of the best shows on television in a long time. Finally quality programming and not ridiculous reality shows. I hope another network picks it up so that it can be successful and get the recognition it deserves!!
Love the show- of course if not for my DVR having it set to record the shows I would of missed them since NBC likes to move its shows around – seems like they are trying to make it fail. Give it a chance and advertise it like you do the stupid reality shows and people might watch. Ihave actually told people about it at work and they love it. Don’t cancel a good show.
I love this show. It has everything in it that makes a good story. Why is it that the good ones always get canceled and the crappy ones make it. Maybe if they put it in a better slot and advertised it a little better than a man being chased than it would get more hits.
GREAT – can’t wait till the next episode – please keep it on, truly is one of the best on TV.
Our family enjoys the Firm so much. We do hope it won’t be cancelled.
Just solid acting….hope it stays around. Like everything, I tape it with PVR and when the night changes around so much, it’s hard to stay on track. Luckily, have not missed an episode though!
I think the dialogue is for everyone though, not just smartypants, of which I am not.
; )
The Firm is a FANTASTIC show. Everyone in it is SO good. The thing is NO ONE knows about it. I’ve introduced about 5 people to the show and now they are regular watchers and they all love it. And they even picked up the show several episodes in to it. It’s fast paced, really well acted, well written, and keeps you wanting more after every episode. I never say that about any show which usually has an “just okay” episode every few weeks. Not this one! Every week is a good week. ADVERTISING, ADVERTISING, ADVERTISING. It’s moved dates and… Read more »
I Love the show. It is well written, interesting and action packed. Always sorry when the hour is over. Want to see season two, please.
I don’t understand NBC management. You don’t get your shows noticed unless it is a comedy or reality show. You have had good shows and just nailed them. I very seldom tune in to NBC anymore because just as you are really enjoying a show you cancel it. As for the show The Firm, advertise it! Get people to wonder what they are missing. You have a good cast let them do their job.
NBC actually has a great show on their hands with The Firm. Of course their network doesn’t know how to give it an audience. Hopefully the same thing that happened with JAG can happen to the Firm and CBS could pick it up from NBC. CBS did more than okay with JAG, not only was it a long running series, but it spun off NCIS which is continually the number one drama on tv.
Love This Show!!!! If the network would have it on a weeknight more people would watch. Why do bad shows get the best time slots while good shows get the bad slots?
So right – The Firm could easily stand against any drama on today – and with DVR and access to both east and west coast programming I get to watch a lot!!!\
I LOVE this show! You sooo want them to make it and live happily ever after but chances are…!! There are so many things coming at this guy – it’s fun to see him figure it all out!
I think this show is really good. The actors are great and the stories are very exciting. It’s nice to escape I to to someone else’s life and get out of yours for awhile. Much, much better than reality shows!!!!
