TV show description:
This is legal/family comedy follows a fictional superstar lawyer who transitions from small screen to small town.
Hollywood icon Dean Sanderson, Jr. (Rob Lowe) returns to his hometown after his TV show is suddenly cancelled. He receives a hero’s welcome from his family, especially from his number one fan and father Dean Sanderson, Sr. (William Devane). Head of the family’s real life law firm, he’s infinitely proud of his handsome and successful actor son.
Slightly less impressed is Dean’s younger brother and real life attorney Stewart Sanderson (Fred Savage) who’s now married to Debbie (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), Dean’s high school sweetheart.
Feeling that the time is right for a life of normalcy and value, Dean decides his next move should be to help out at his family’s firm. With no formal legal training (though having a played a successful lawyer on one of television’s most watched shows for eight seasons), he believes he is more than qualified to practice.
His uncompromising and intense character on The Grinder is a far cry from the real life courtrooms where his brother has worked tirelessly for so long. Oblivious to his brother’s concerns and real life due process, clients are delighted to have the supposedly legendary lawyer represent them.
Episode #22 —
Dean Sr.’s malpractice trial is finally at hand and it will come to a surprising conclusion when Stewart gets sidelined, leaving it to the rest of the Sanderson & Yao team to save the firm and find out who has been the secret mastermind behind Cory Manler and Dean Sr.’s case. Stewart is concerned that Dean’s instincts and Grinder-isms won’t be enough to win the day, and Dean is offended by his own brother’s lack of faith.
First aired: May 10, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like The Grinder TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
This is the best new sitcom in my opinion. It’s one of the best sitcoms PERIOD. I continuously laugh out loud at this show. Rob Lowe and Fred Savage are a surprisingly good comedic team. I **really** hope we haven’t heard “The Grinder Rests” for the last time!
Love how this show makes fun of TV shows, without being mean spirited. Rob & Fred are great, as is everyone in the supporting cast. The guest stars are a joy. The arc of this show makes it possible for a lot of cameos so I’m looking forward to see who pops up next!
Love the show, don’t cancel
Grinder is a good show with excellent writing. The actors mesh together really well.
Oh my gosh, we freaking LOVE this show! Please renew it~ !! Best comedy on right now!! The grinder rests!
Please renew this show. It is very good and getting better. Give it a chance to find it’s audience
Grinder is a great family show. The story arc of Jillian (Maya Rudolph) is the one major downside. Not only does it take away from the real meat of the show, it’s moving the show in a more “adult” direction with too many conversations dealing with their relationship, time in bed, sex life, etc. If that story keeps up, it’ll be the end of The Grinder for our family.
This is one of the best series on TV today. Ben Savage and Rob Lowe are wonderful in their roles. Please renew this series!!!!
I like it a lot. Ben Savage is really excellent as the under-appreciated brother.
It is Fred Savage not Ben who is on Girl Meets World.
I love the Grinder. Rob Lowe is the best. RENEW!!
This is one of the few comedy sitcoms I watch. It is hilarious!! I love the concept and the cast is perfect. I am so happy to see William DeVain & although he doesn’t have much to say, when he opens his mouth I find myself rolling with laughter. Please renew this show.
I think it is a little goofy, but cute FAMILY entertainment. However, I was disappointed with the last episode when both children commented that dad was “pissed” at their mother. I don’t think that is appropriate language, especially for the younger child. Shows always start off wholesome and little by little push the envelope to see how far they can go with off-colored comments or swearing. This is my first time ever to comment on a show, but I’m tired of seeing shows go downhill morally after they have the viewers hooked.
Love the show!!!!!!!!
Don’t cancel.. chemistry between all actors us great..acting and writing far superior to the remainder of the STUPID sitcoms in network TV.
Love this show, looking forward to many more seasons!
We love this show !! Please give it a chance ! Best new original show. We actually LAUGH !!
