The summer is over and so is The InBetween TV show on NBC. The drama series, which ran from May until August, has been cancelled and won’t be returning for season two next year.
A psychic police procedural, The InBetween stars Harriet Dyer, Paul Blackthorne, Justin Cornwell, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna, Chad James Buchanan, Andres Joseph, Michael B. Silver, and Sean Bulger. The paranormal drama centers on Cassie Bedford (Dyer), who is gifted with abilities she often considers a curse. Cassie has unbidden visions of events past and future and is also approached by spirits who need her help in some way. She gets drawn into the cases her foster father, Seattle Police detective Tom Hackett (Blackthorne), works with his new partner, former FBI profiler and LAPD detective Damien Asante (Cornwell).
The first season of The InBetween averaged a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.57 million viewers. Of the peacock network’s seven summer series, The InBetween ranked in last place in the demo and nearly last place in viewers (just about Hollywood Game Night).
The show’s 10th and final episode aired on August 14th and left fans with a cliffhanger that seems unlikely to be resolved.
Thanks for everyone who watched #theinbetween no second season but you can stream our 10 episodes on Hulu or the NBC app! Love you guys!

What do you think? Did you like The InBetween TV show on NBC? Would you have watched a second season in 2020?
I loved in between please bring back. it was unique. I am very sad you would cancel this show.
Loved the show. But since it’s not a reality show I knew it wouldn’t last
I agree, they have stupid shows like Bob’s Burgers, etc but don’t renew shows that make you think or question things. Great job NBC, stupid idiots!
I love this show! Please bring it back
I liked The Inbetween and would have definitely watched season 2. Really sad when they cancel the good shows and keep the stupid reality shows and other crappy shows. Very disappointed NBC!
So many TV series that you invest your time and emotions in which end on a cliffhanger and are not renewed. Not fair on the fans. TV should not be designed like this where these things are easily disposed and replaced by something inferior which does get renewed! Some TV series of old take more than a season to take hold and bed in and end up as classic TV, which may otherwise have not reached such status. Gutted The Inbetween is cancelled.
It should have a 2 season stop takeing a good show off just not everyone in the world likes it there are other out there love the show please keep it on thanks
Absolutely gutted they’ve decided not to renew, hope Netflix sees sense & snaps it up!
Yes I was going to watch. I am very disappointed that the show won’t be back on.
Definitely would have watched! Loved the In-Between!!
If the 4 networks are gonna continue to pour their money into stupid shows like The Bachelor, Bachelorette, Survivor, Temptation Island, etc etc etc, then streaming services will dominate. Oh wait…..they already are.
YES, I would’ve watched a 2nd season but it doesn’t matter anymore. The 4 old networks are making it easier and easier to flock to streaming services. They entice us with good shows then pull the plug on them once we get into them. LAME! I’m more than happy to give Disney+, Netflix, Amazon, etc. my money if this is the future of “free” tv.
So sad to hear that this show has been cancelled. This reminded me of Medium , a show I followed from it’s first episode to it’s last. I had high hopes for The In Between, it seemed like a real winner to me. But I guess it is more important to keep making crappy reality shows than to make intelligent television.
I loved The Inbetween and would have watched seasons forward. Really sad when they cancel great shows and keep the crappy ones.
The show great. I love Cindy Luna. She’s so pretty. Summer shows always have lower ratings. They need to bring it back and put it on in the fall where the ratings will be higher. I hate when all the shows I love get canceled.
