Next summer, you’ll be able to watch season two of The Last Ship TV show on TNT. The cable channel has picked up the new action series for a second season of 13 episodes.
In a statement, TNT president Michael Wright said, “The Last Ship has become this summer’s top drama among key adult demos with its epic scale and visceral storytelling.”
On The Last Ship, the crew of the USS Nathan James must try to find a cure for a deadly virus that has wiped out most of the world’s population. The cast includes Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, Rhona Mitra, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Michaela McManus, Sam Spruell, Travis Van Winkle, and Tracy Middendorf.
The first four episodes of Last Ship have averaged 4.66 million viewers each week along with a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s TNT’s third most-watched series this summer, behind Rizzoli & Isles and Major Crimes.
Today, the cable channel also renewed Major Crimes and Falling Skies for next summer. The latter will return for its final season.

I like the show and am glad to see it renewed. However, I think TNT is making a mistake in making viewers wait so long before resuming. We will have forgotten about it, lost interest and patience and and have moved on. AMC the the same thing with Rubicon which was the best tv drama in the last decade and the lapse killed the show. Dummies.
Yes im glad it’s back but I would be evan happier if one sights would tellme when season 2 starts instead of stringing me along.

What!!… Pam says only 5 shows for the season! Come on TNT!.. you can do better than that! It’s a great show, great cast (love the Captain,) lot of potential in an evolving storyline. Don’t blow it TNT, you’ll pick up more viewers! 🙂

I’m very glad the last ship is being renewed I am really looking forward to watching this series this is one of the few television series I have really enjoyed watching
I can’t wait til the summer to see this show . Please consider some how, to show it throughout the year. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited to watch a show.

I love the show. …I was always wanted to see the next episode. I am glad that it is returning. There were a lot of great new show put on last year. To bad some of them will not be back. HOPE THIS ONE IS AROUND for many seasons……I also wish a season was MORE than 5 shows

Absolutely loved Last Ship! Had to show it to all my family members and they loved it as well especially the real critical ones. Loved all the characters, loved the action & the drama – it was an excellent TV series and I’m so glad that you will be continuing!

I absolutely love The Last Ship…storyline and cast are awesome! My only complaint is waiting until summer for season 2!
