Next summer, you’ll be able to watch season two of The Last Ship TV show on TNT. The cable channel has picked up the new action series for a second season of 13 episodes.
In a statement, TNT president Michael Wright said, “The Last Ship has become this summer’s top drama among key adult demos with its epic scale and visceral storytelling.”
On The Last Ship, the crew of the USS Nathan James must try to find a cure for a deadly virus that has wiped out most of the world’s population. The cast includes Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, Rhona Mitra, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Michaela McManus, Sam Spruell, Travis Van Winkle, and Tracy Middendorf.
The first four episodes of Last Ship have averaged 4.66 million viewers each week along with a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s TNT’s third most-watched series this summer, behind Rizzoli & Isles and Major Crimes.
Today, the cable channel also renewed Major Crimes and Falling Skies for next summer. The latter will return for its final season.

Wow thought for a second it got cancelled. Wish it could come back before summer but I will hand in there till it returns. Yes glad it was not canceled. Wish a few on major networks would get a be boot.

This show reminds of a very good show on NBC called Revolution and it was rudely canceled. I hope LAST SHIP isn’t treated the same way. I hope it last for at least two more years.

Excellent TV Drama series. TNT got a hit on their hands. Hope they dont blow it by waiting so long to get it back on air….Mid Season would be extremely NICE…..Eagerly looked forward each week for the new episode….Congrats on your HIT…
I love the series it was intelligent, interesting and fast moving. All the characters were great with believable personalities and the life struggles the lead characters and the crew face and conquer are worth watching. I’m only sorry they wont be back until 2015. A very long time to wait for their return.

Love the show all the actors are really good ,liked van winkle he had a good part in Burnie notice,anyway glad to see tnt picked it up for a second season however I wishthey would split the season, waiting a year seems too long
