The X-Files aired the finale for the mini-series revival on FOX last night, and the finale ended with Mulder’s life in the balance and a huge cliffhanger. Is there a season 11 already in the works for The X-Files?
Chris Carter spoke about the cliffhanger ending and the possibility of another season of The X-Files after the episode aired, and there is a chance that fans of the series could see another season pop up on FOX.
In an interview with TV Insider, Carter said the following about the chances of another season:
“I know where this goes in my mind. And so, it wasn’t just a cliffhanger without a clear idea of where we go. That said, even though I had a conversation with [Fox boss] Dana Walden today, talking about doing more episodes, I think the question is how to get it done.”
Carter has always expressed an interest to continue the franchise on FOX, but it has always been an issue of scheduling for David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
The series introduced new characters that could carry the story forward, but that would be an entirely different series.
Carter teased more about the possibility of another season to TV Line:
“I can tell you this: Fox owns this show. I can’t imagine, with the ratings that we’ve got and the way we ended this season, that there won’t be more X-Files. They will find a way to get that done. Because I spoke about it briefly with [Fox CEO] Dana Walden today, so there’s an appetite there and… a chance certainly to find how we’re gonna get ourselves off this precipice.”

Many people wait the season 11 of X-files, and I hope to see it. The series have become one of the most important phenomenon for the concept of science fiction in the TV of 90-s. Fox and Scully are the best roles of David Duchovny end Gillian Anderson, and it would be so pity if we didn’t see them again. I will expect the continuation…
Fox and Scully would do 5 to 10 more seasons that would be awesome!!! especially since there’s hardly any good shows on anymore.

Would love to see a continuance of the X-Files. Bringing in the younger versions of Scully and Mulder was a “duh” moment as you’d expect the passing of time would also accompany a passing of the torch from Scully and Mulder to Einstein and Miller. But how to handle that could be a delicate matter. One option would be to have Mulder’s prediction come true and Scully become an Asst. I would be happy and ecstatic to have a season 11, but this time, let it be an entire season. I think I know where Chris Carter was headed to the next film with this. It all starts with Roswell and even Walter Skinner could not stand those Project Bluebook, supposedly, in his office, esp Cancer man. Please DON’T bring back the series. However, move forward with the current format of limited engagements of miniseries. This will keep the series entertaining, enticing, and entriguing.
Need more X-files! I grew up watching the series and I loved it then as much as I love it now. Please renew Carter’s series.

I am at the edge of my seat. Please renew the X-Files. The story would not be complete without William. He alone may save Mulder and possibly the world. I am dying to know his special gifts. Please fight the good fight!
No I thought the series was awful and nothing like the original. Sometimes things need to be left well enough alone. Please do not renew I will not be watching. The cliffhanger wasn’t necessary. The 8th episode was the worst!
