Would the life of police officer Allison McLean get a little less hectic in season two of the Ties The Bind TV show? We’ll never know. UP has cancelled the drama after one season of 10 episodes.
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, played by Kelli Williams. Like most working women, Allison McLean’s hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis). She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. The rest of the cast includes Matreya Scarrwener, Rhys Matthew Bond, Lucia Walters, and Aaron Craven.
The series debuted in August 2015 and the 10 episodes finished airing in October. The cable channel was apparently considering ordering a second season but earlier this year, they decided not to do so. A message on the show’s Facebook page notes:
After thoughtful consideration, UP has decided to not renew “Ties That Bind.” The decision was not made lightly as we appreciate our passionate viewers who were not ready for the story to end. We want to thank the cast and crew for their tremendous dedication. Your commitment to this series was extraordinary.
What do you think? Did you enjoy this cop drama? Should it have been cancelled? Would you have watched a second season of Ties That Bind on UP?
Very sad to see that there is not going to be a Season 2. I loved the show and can’t believe they left everyone hanging like that.
I have watched ties that find the first episode twice. I have thoroughly enjoyed the show and still hope that there would have been a second season especially since there was a cliffhanger of Cameron running away, Mariah and Cameron’s mom having to work through her setback and how families work together and overcome.
Detective McLean was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. What a shame they cancelled it. It had such a positive message.
Very disappointed to see there is no season two. And leaving a cliff hanger in episode 10 was awful. The actors did a great job, the plot was engaging, the values were good. Very sad it was called.
What?? Why is it that all great shows get cancelled!! Time to cancel UP!!
I’m very disappointed! Was glad to see Luke Perry and considering his passing could of been written in as a death in prison so the show could continue! I loved it and it should be picked up to continue we need a show like this even more today with right and wrong being addressed with strong morals to live by!! Thank y’all!!!
Very upset that the show will not continue. Loved it!!
Well, I guess I’m going to cancel UP then they obviously suck at making decisions regarding continuing our canceling shows. We just found this show and are very upset that it only has one season. It was a great show.
I won’t cancel because they are trying to keep wholesale down home love and morals first and foremost!!! Our families need this!
I am so disappointed that they didn’t film another season. They just left everything unfinished. I would definitely watch it if they did film the next season. It’s a great show!
Agree !
I would have loved to see the second season. I can’t believe they would just leave us hanging like that. I would love to watch more seasons.
I loved Ties that Bind! I hope they reconsider and film a second season! I would definitely watch more seasons of this show
I would definitely watch another season if it becomes available.
I don’t think Ties That Bind should have been cancelled,, it was so good and very interesting.
We have just watched a rerun of the 10 episodes of Season 1. Found it just as good second time around
We liked the way the programme portrayed realistic challenges and how these were tackled. I would certainly watch a session 2 should it become available
Absolutely agree!!!
