Today brought good news for Switched at Birth fans as the series was renewed for a fourth season. Unfortunately, the news wasn’t good for fans of the Twisted TV show. It’s been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season.
A mystery/thriller series, Twisted revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.
The pilot episode of Twisted aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly started falling again.
The cable channel split the season into two parts and, starting in February of this year, gave it the advantage of airing after Pretty Little Liars, their most popular show. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to help and the ratings got worse and worse. The final two episodes of the season drew just 726,000 and 773,000 viewers.
TVLine now reports that ABC Family has pulled the plug on the Twisted series, leaving viewers with a lot of unanswered questions.

Twisted is interesting!!!!just like the show The Secret Circle that was also cancelled we are left out in the dark about the whole story!!!please run it for another season!There are other shows that were flops the first season but grew to be the most popular shows!!!!!
I think that the best and most outstanding shows take time to build throughout the first season which hooks you in the show for many juicer seasons to come. If you are going to cancel a show at least have the decency to the fans and give us closure on a short closing episode to tie everything up…. I mean that’s really what’s the most disappointing is when it’s left on a cliff hanger and other MUCH CRAPPIER shows are still running? I LOVE twisted. I am so ticked they aren’t renewing another series! I work a lot so I don’t get to watch it on TV but when it comes out on netflix I go on a TWISTED binge! I think they need to recount their viewers! like someone else said, they’re counting TV’s tuned in not the amount of people around the TV. I love switched at birth. I started watching twisted and love it too. If there gonna just cancel a series like that and just leave you in suspence then I’m just gonna quit watching any of the new series you put on.
They need to bring back Twisted my husband and I love this show. Your calculations are prob way off just cuz it says only a little bit of ppl are watching what if they are watching it on the same television duh!!! BRING BACK TWISTED PLEASE.

I want twisted back!! I would have rather seen swiched at birth gone. Now that show just keeps going.. Okay they were swiched n found we get it.. Twisted was just getting better! Hate that it’s off!
I’m so upset that they didn’t renew Twisted. That was my favorite TV series on the Family channel!! Now I’ll never know the plot behind it all. I’m banning the channel now!
Twisted is wayyyyy more interesting than switched at birth, switched at birth had a lot longer running time and it has been on loner and twisted hasn’t. They need to give it a second shot. It is an amazing show!
This isn’t fair because I have Virgin Media and Virgin doesn’t allow ABC Family and if you watch it online you don’t count as a viewer. ABC Family should bring it back for a second season just to give it a chance and hopefully it will get more ratings . And I agree that Switched at Birth should’ve been cancelled because it is getting boring!!
