Today brought good news for Switched at Birth fans as the series was renewed for a fourth season. Unfortunately, the news wasn’t good for fans of the Twisted TV show. It’s been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season.
A mystery/thriller series, Twisted revolves around 17 year old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia). Six years ago, he was charged with killing his aunt and he ended up spending five years in juvenile detention. Now, he’s been released and has returned to his small hometown in New York. As he tries to resume his life, a classmate is killed and Danny becomes a key suspect. The cast also includes Madelaine Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Ashton Moio, Kimberly Quinn, Denise Richards, and Sam Robards.
The pilot episode of Twisted aired as a special preview in March 2013 and drew 1.19 million viewers. It wasn’t a great start but the ratings picked up when the regular season started in June. They quickly started falling again.
The cable channel split the season into two parts and, starting in February of this year, gave it the advantage of airing after Pretty Little Liars, their most popular show. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to help and the ratings got worse and worse. The final two episodes of the season drew just 726,000 and 773,000 viewers.
TVLine now reports that ABC Family has pulled the plug on the Twisted series, leaving viewers with a lot of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you think that Twisted should have been renewed for a second season? Are there any ABC Family shows you would have cancelled instead?
I liked both ravenswood and twisted . I hate when I get into a show and its canceled without giving us an ending . all shows should have an alternate ending just to give the ones that watched an ending . I’ve decided not to watch any new shows . once they decide not to cancel then I can watch on demand .
Twisted should not be cancelled after one season. Now that it is on Netflix more people are getting to watch it and fall in love with it. I think if Pretty Little Liars is getting renewed so should Twisted. There should at least be a season two just to see if the ratings go up. Can’t just give up after one season!!
Twisted was soooooo good. Couldn’t wait for each weeks episode. PLEASE RENEW IT!!!!!
I’m thinking of never watching ABC family again. Always canceling good shows nd leaving crappy ones WHY????????
Don’t cancell it!! It’s so good!!
Kyle x was cancelled this same way. I have now been disappointed twuce. I love twisted. Keep it going for the followers!!
No, I would wather of cancelled every other show then twisted. Twisted was the best I loved jo and danny the chemistry was awesome. Exspecially when at the end danny started getting his feelings back for jo and was going to admit it to her.
Please don’t cancel this show!!!
No! This show is my absolute favorite! I have seen every episode! You can’t just cut the show after the 1st season. Especially considering you didn’t even give it a good ending. You have to give shows some time to get people interested
Finally twisted is over abc family made the right choice on canceling it there is no season 2 if people cared about watching it on tv and live then the raitings could have got higher raitings for renewal but the raitings got bad because not enough people were watching it abc family doesn’t care about DVR Netflix they just want us watch them on tv you all should be happy that SAB The Fosters PLL Chasing life are still on tv abc family will keep on renewing them on their network
Its not to late it can still be renewed that is an amazing show that will get better if given more publicity i never knew about the show until coming across it on Netflix and since then i have introduced many to it and they instantly fall in love. Give it time and more publicity and it will get thevratings abc wants.
WHAT!!!!!!!! twisted pll and the fosters are the BEST SHOWS EVER I WOULD HAVE CANCLLED EVERY OTHER SHOW
Plz dunt cancel twisted..it’s an intelligent series that lives upto its title.
There still are soo many unsolved and vague stories. Plz launch at least one more season or the final season… You can shorten the series but dunt abstain it from completion.
I would have cancelled mystery girls or chasing life or young and hungry.

you guys have canceled two very good shows because of ratings and you keep comparing them to pretty little liars which is had over a hundred and some episodes of course they’re not going to have as many viewers you have to give them time to get more viewers not just one season not everybody instantly go on to a show. They like it to have a little bit of experience and then they go on and watch it. Especially with abcfamily because they like to cancel shows after 1 season or halfway thru a season. I’m positive abc family… Read more »
again it’s a real shame. why thinking always ratings instead of giving pleasure to the followers? is it really difficult to produce new season also with few episodes to give a end for the show? omg we are hostages……
please bring back twisted and provide a end to the show.
I’ve watched two shows on ABC Family, both of which I really enjoyed. (Kyle XY and Twisted). I thought they were both excellent family shows – there are not too many that I can enjoy watching with my kids. Kyle was cancelled because they wanted to change something in their programming, and now Twisted, for low ratings. As ABC Family is a “specialized” network, I think you need to give any show a reasonable chance to be heard of and followed by viewers. If you keep cancelling excellent shows (even without super ratings) you will have a very hard time… Read more »
