Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

Season 3 sucked. I really loved this show but it went off the mark in season 3. I looked forward to watching it. My vote is bring on season 4 but follow the example of season 1 & 2 for plots and story lines.

Yes I also agree. The actors are good, the action is also there but unfortunately the story was going nowhere during the last episodes !! We just don’t understand why some people have to die if later on there is no consequences on that and it brings nothing to the story. Why the son must be shot ? Unfinished and that’s a disappointment for us watchers if you care to know.

Please say that you are kidding.. Tyrant is a very very GOOD series. Please please return for fourth season… It is a wonderful show…I use to break my neck ready to watch.. If it was a network that alot of people get…It would be a DARN GOOD series.
the film is very okay why canceled it
I lived in Kuwait for 4 years. Tyrant is realistic, haunting, and accurately shows some of the troubles that plague the Middle East. I really enjoy this show. I wish you would bring it back. I think I appreciate it because I lived the culture first hand.

They always cancel shows I love. I have to say I loved the show and upset to see it cancelled. For once a show that had a great story mixed with awesome acting. ughhh so sad!!! If its a good show its cancelled,,,stupid shows hang in forever..I dont get it!!!
Well I have been to the middle east and the show is very impressive I miss it and for it to end so poorly really shows that you might want to let some other net work finish this GREAT STORY!!!

Watched it every week no matter what, recorded it if necessary. Very confused as to why it was cancelled. I rarely follow a series but just a few. This one I loved.
