Things are not going well for Lori Loughlin. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hallmark has severed all ties with the When Calls the Heart co-star following her arrest.
Earlier this week, Loughlin was arrested by the FBI after being accused of participating in a nation-wide college admissions scheme. The Full House star has been a cast member of Hallmark’s hit series When Calls the Heart since its debut in 2014. Additionally, she stars in the network’s film series Garage Sale Mysteries.
Hallmark Channel released a public statement announcing their separation with Loughlin. The network doesn’t specify if they’ll continue to air the current season of When Calls the Heart but it seems likely that they will. If Heart is renewed for a seventh season, it appears that Loughlin’s Abigail Stanton character will not be a part of it.
Here’s the statement:
We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production.”
Update: A Hallmark spokesperson tells us that When Calls the Heart has been pulled from the March 17th schedule. Will future episodes air? “We are evaluating all creative options related to When Calls the Heart series.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of When Calls the Heart? Will you keep watching the Hallmark series? Does Loughlin’s arrest affect your feelings about her or the shows she’s on?
Please dont cancel when calls the heart or garage sale mysteries. I mean seadon 6 of wcth was already recorded and lori was already pd for it so you might as well air the shows and replace her next season. As far as gsm three movies were already done as well. You can play them too. Again she was already paid for them and if anymore are coming out replace her. I dont think Lori she should be fired because i am sure you would do anything for your children as well. Just my opinion.
Please don’t cancel her shows, she made a mistake. She has a huge fan base that loves her and she will deal with her personal problems. You are taking away her ability to earn a living and depriving us of great shows. I think she should remain and this station is hypocritical showing shows with forgiveness and second chances. Only God is perfect the rest of us are human.
Please don’t cancel garage sale mysteries. It was one of my favorite shows. I don’t think its right to punish lori for a mistake. I am a mom and would fo anything for my kids. Business and personal life should be separate. She made that show and is a great actress. Please don’t take this away from her fans. It’s not fair.
Don’t kill WCTH or GSM. Both are so very good. Just replace Lori L. You have a lot of other actors to consider
aTNnxi agree keep the show’s but get rid of Lori Laughlin
I have liked watching Lori Loughlin in When Calls the Heart and Garage Sale Mysteries. That said, there are consequences to our actions/decisions in private life. I think we can all likely agree that her actions appear to have been illegal, unwholesome, and unfair. Hallmark is a wholesome channel and I love them for that position. Hallmark really had no choice but to remove Lori Loughlin. One fairly common posted argument here is that removing her punishes the cast; if we really think about this, it should not, however, be the argument for keeping her. The most appropriate likely solution is… Read more »
I love When Calls the Heart and hope that Hallmark will make the decision to continue the series. Lori’s indiscretions shouldn’t punish the rest of the cast. If this season has already been filmed, I would like to see the rest of it and they can work Lori out when the next season begins. We need good hearted shows like this one.
I understand what Lori did is wrong; however, I think pulling all the shows she is on is a little extreme. She did something wrong but would she be “fired” if she worked in another career? Let the court system deal with her wrong doing but at least let her finish the season.
I will keep watching Garage Sale Mysteries when they are on TV. I think we should let the courts handle the charges. And not idolize the people on TV so much, they to are only human. JESUS CHRIST is the only perfect one to be worshipped.
I will never watch again
I have only watched Lori Laughlin in Garage Sale Mysteries and Full House. I totally enjoy her as an actress. This college scandal that she is involved in is minor compared to things that are happening all over the US. She probably never thought she was doing something wrong. She, like any parent was doing the best for her children. There are worst things that other celebrities have done and don’t get so much as a tap on the wrist. I like the show Garage Sale Mysteries. It is my favorite Hallmark show. I may dump Hallmark if this show… Read more »
Please keep airing the Garage Sale Mysteries. Let the judicial system work for Mrs. Laughlin but if we never watched celebrities who did wrong, made poor decisions, or broke laws we might not have any shows to watch. Thank you.
In the world of crimes this college thing has to be on the lowest rung of the ladder. She could have murdered her husband and gotten less scrutiny. Slap her hand and put her back to work. I like my garage sale mystery. At least Hallmark should stand behind her until she is proven guilty. Forget all this politically correct crap.
Please, please do not cancel When Calls the Heart or Garage Sale mysteries. Great shows and there aren’t enough of them out there. I still think there are other alternatives to firing Lori Laughlin but there is shame in what she did. I do agree that too many people with privilege break the law and ‘pay’ their way out of trouble but I also think that they can pay in a way that will benefit others and at the same time not affect fans and cast members negatively. I be seen too many programs suffer and ultimately be cancelled because… Read more »
I am greatly saddened by the news of the Hallmark channel cutting ties with Lori Laughlin. Both Garage Sale Mysteries and When Calls The Heart will not be the same without her. Replacing her with another actress would be a mistake. I believe there is another alternative. If she is indeed found guilty she will no doubt be punished by the law, as she should be, but instead of this damaging the shows and other cast members isn’t there a way that can serve others better? What about taking the money she would earn and putting it towards putting two… Read more »
Keep shows going, replace Lori. They all sign contracts and can guarantee there was 2 or 3 sentences regarding the actors morals and criminal acts that will null/void said contract. Slap on wrist or working without pay not acceptable. Too many rich, people, Hollywood actors, and politicians are breaking the law and buying their way out. Definitely not what I would think Hallmark would support.
Please don’t stop airing When Calls The Heart. I love this show. I am saddened by what happened with Lori. I really like her. But don’t punish the rest of the cast and all of the fans. I think Garage Sale Mysteries should continue with another actress.
I totally agree. Garage sale Mysteries should continue with another actress. Other actors have been replaced since the debut. Lori loughlin is not the only actress that can play the part.
