TV show description:
Based on books by Janette Oke, this historical drama revolves around Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher who’s been accustomed to high society life. Her life changes dramatically when she receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coal mining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges.
Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin) is a wife and mother whose husband (the foreman of the mine) and a dozen other miners have just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads.
Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley — except Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). He believes that her wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter.
Living in a 19th century coal town, Elizabeth must learn the ways of the frontier if she can ever hope to thrive in the rural west on her own.

What do you think? Do you like the When Calls the Heart TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
Totally disappointed with the entire season. The use of the teams to create division among fans, the disjointed and misleading story lines and the lack of responsiveness by TPTB to the aftermath they created from this season. Hope Valley is no longer a happy place and I will not be visiting next year.
Sad ending to a great show. The writers destroyed our wonderful characters
Have loved this series since it began, and loved the books. Terribly disappointed in the finale of Season 8. The writing of the finale did not match the writing themes from the rest of the season and did not match the previous 2 seasons’ trajectory. I have no interest in watching a love story between the characters of Elizabeth and Lucas, and do not like the way they have rewritten Elizabeth’s character. Sadly, I will not be watching Season 9 with the storyline they are currently pursuing, and that makes me sad, because I have loved this show. The Season… Read more »
I love this show but i have to say this last season was not great, I have come to not care for Elizabeths character at all, all that redeemed the show for me is Fiona and hickem and rosemary and Lee and Florence and Ned. I don’t mind Lucas but he isn’t a main character for me and doesn’t seem suited for Elizabeth and little jack
Best show on tv love this show and hope to have many more seasons!!
Love the show but was very disappointed by Eliabeth’s choice. Was hoping she would choose Nathan! Please don’t cancel.
Finally gives action to original cast members who always have been behind the scenes which is nice to see but overall, disappointing. Very different from the original season. No chemistry. Not anywhere near as good as the first 5 seasons. Surprised Hallmark even airs it since Hallmark is anti-family values now.
Best program on television! I watch using FrndlyTV as we do not subscribe to cable. Wonderful family program that children can watch as well.
Please don’t cancel this show. It is a refreshing and wonderful story with great characters. Believable acting. They have become like family.
Why dont we get When calls the Heart serie 8 on Netflix
Season eight has a new writer that is developing a story in a very different way from past seasons. The love triangle has now gone on for three seasons and I’m weary from it. I have truly missed the way they cultivated community with a historical perspective.
I have loved WCTH in past seasons but I believe it has run its course and should be canceled unless they get a new show runner.
Sadly, CBC has removed new episodes of the Canadian co-produced series from its cable lineup.
Watched When Calls the Heart last night, 2-21-21. As usual, the plot and actors and actresses were exceptional BUT there were either too many commercials or commercials were too long. We watch Hallmark Movies almost every night and those shows are NOT over-commercialized. We felt like the “Heart” story was too chopped up and strained. It just didn’t flow smoothly like the others. We have waited patiently from the close of one Series to the open of the next, but if something is not done about the excess commercials, we probably won’t waste our time anymore. Hope you can see… Read more »
This is a great watch and can be continued for years, here’s hoping, great stories, great characters, may it always continue
I hope this show many more successful seasons. We need more television shows like this one!
