It looks like the Zoo has been closed. CBS has decided to cancel their low-rated Zoo TV show after three summer seasons.
A CBS drama thriller based on the James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge novel, Zoo, stars James Wolk as zoologist Jackson Oz. The cast also includes Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Billy Burke, Alyssa Diaz, Josh Salatin, and Gracie Dzienny. After noticing animals behaving strangely during the African safaris he conducts, Oz and his team work to figure out the reason behind it. Meanwhile, the animals assaults become more cunning, coordinated, and ferocious.
The series never drew a big audience for the network but it managed to hold on for three seasons. The first season averaged a 1.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.40 million viewers. The second season dropped by more than 30%, averaging a 0.74 in the demo with 4.45 million. This past summer, the third season saw even bigger declines and averaged a 0.51 in the demo and 2.65 million.
Zoo was produced in-house by CBS Television Studios. It was profitable thanks to a deal with Netflix to stream the show once its seasons finished airing. Because of the deal, the series was profitable before an episode had even aired. Salvation, which was recently renewed for a second season, is part of a similar deal with Amazon.

I just finished rewatching Zoo for a second time and in my honest opinion it’s one of the best Netflix series to date. The show took so many unexpected turns and it sucks to see such a huge cliff hanger and nothing done with it. The show had SO MUCH more potential and I hope to see it renewed someday soon.
Please bring Zoo back so we can see what happens next. I have watched it several times…I need to know the ending…
Please bring season 4 and somehow bring back Chloe Tousignant! with sci-fi it can easily be done!
Why did you cancelled the show. It was amazing, I don’t understand why there is low ratings for this show as I believe most of the world liked this show, maybe low ratings is a trick so that cbs can cancel the show. Cbs do something as trust me zoo is an amazing series. I completed the 3rd season in a day cos it was amazing. So please continue this series with more seasons. Why Would they make 3 seasons then stop it just like that!! After everyone has gotten addicted to the show!! It’s a Great Sci fi show!! Ratings may be down a little but they left all the fans hanging!! I watched all 3 seasons on Netflix so I doubt ratings get factored in that way! Me and like a million other people! This is why I had stop looking at new TV seres! Just when you start enjoying a show they shut it down because of TV ratings!! That’s a shame!!
I would love to see the season four atleast you should complete it please please We need it and the casts too I never found it anytime out of the entertainment.

Why must this show be cancelled? Please bring Zoo back on air…I’ve watched each season over and over and can’t understand why it would be cancelled. You can’t just end the third season with the plane crashing through the barrier and expect no one to not want to know what happens next ♂️. Please bring out a season 4!!!!!
