Last summer, NBC aired the fourth season of American Ninja Warrior. The “ultimate athlete” reality competition is a spin-off of the long-running Japanese television series Sasuke.
The American Ninja Warrior show began on G4 in 2009 and NBC and the cable channel aired season four concurrently. Both NBC and G4TV are owned by NBCUniversal.
On the peacock network, the nine episodes averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.11 million viewers. While those numbers aren’t great, the partnership likely made their cost very low.
At the TCA Winter Press Tour, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said that the network plans to air season five of American Ninja Warrior this summer. Other programming will include season eight of America’s Got Talent and a new dramatic series, Camp.
What do you think? Do you like American Ninja Warrior? Are you glad to hear that it will be returning to NBC?
I will continue watching ANW ,and all the Shows associated with the Show ! I have LOVED watching the Contestants compete , over the SEASONS !!! xoxoxoxoxoxxxxx
We watch it as a family and there aren’t enough family shows out there these days!! My husband seconds that!! So, I’d say we want it to come back for sure
I think this a great show and a great way to challenge our out of shape society to do something with their lives and have a chance to make some money. I think this is better than most game shows on TV. I hope there will be another season. I barely found out about this show and I have been hooked and would like to take on the challenge.
My son started to watch this show from the very first show. The next year he got me hooked on this show. We are enjoying the Season 4 Highlights & are very looking forward to Season 5 starting soon. Can Hardly Wait…..
Yes, I think this is a good thing. I just wanna know when they will start accepting audition tapes. If you can get that info, that would be great!!
I think American Ninja Warrior is the BEST thing on tv. Please keep this program/competition alive. I’m 52.
