Word is circulating today that Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled after two seasons. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but it doesn’t look like there will be a third season.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
Things haven’t been looking so good for the syndicated series for awhile. The ratings had dropped and, last month, the Tribune company (which owns a lot of local stations that air LOS) decided not to pick it up for a third year.
ABC Studios and show producers said that the show had not being cancelled yet and that the studio was searching for other local stations to fill in for the Tribune stations.
There had been unofficial word that that process was going well. However, now it seems that ABC couldn’t find enough takers for LOS.
Sad as this news might be, it doesn’t come as a big surprise. The season’s viewership started at about 2.5 million in November and the April 10th episode barely brought in two million. That’s not an attractive trend for a new buyers.
Hopefully, the producers will be able to include some degree of closure to the final episode.

I will be very disappointed if LOS is cancelled. My husband and I look forward to it every week. I think there are a lot more fans of this show out there than the network thinks. Too bad only the folks who are chosen by Nielson are counted for the ratings — there’s got to be a better way to evaluate how many folks are watching programs.
I agree w/ the viewers comments! How many shows on U.S. television have the qualities of LOS? I believe there is not a show that delivers compassion w/ a touch of honest adventure! Why does rating play should a key role in deciding a shows fate. If Disney (ABC) really wanted to promote its long and distinguished standing of 75 years of peace, happiness and all things of good report, continue LOS for the 3rd season. I’m probably insane to talk of good television before the all might $ and the bottom-line.
I hate to see the show come to an end. There are so many garbage shows on TV that go on and on.
I like the cast, I like the story, and it could have done a lot more with the characters.

The legend of the seeker is one of the best tv shows I,ve seen in a long time. I still can’t believe they are cancelling it. Please do not kill off a GREAT TV show. PLEASE! I look foward to watching my favorite show every week , because all they have on tv nowdays is pure garbage!!! REALITY SHOWS are the worst. The hills?? I mean come on , why are they’re lives so important?? People deal with problems and situations like in those shows all the time. Everyday, so why would i wanna watch theyre lives .. Its dumb. Its all GOSSIP and about BETRAYAL and bad examples for teens. The seeker however is A GREAT SHOW. SAVE OUR SEEKER!!!!!!!!!
I am really disappointed that this show is not running. I thought the show was well done. I thought it was captivating. I hope there will be another season. I didn’t know of the show until I stumbled upon it on netflix. Once I started watching I was hooked. I quickly went through season 1 & 2. I hope someone gets back on the air.
I am very disappointed at the cancellation of this show. I liked the characters and the intricate story line, I was also pleased with the addition of Cara and I would have enjoyed seeing her character grow. The end was too abrupt and the future of Richard, Kahlan and Cara was left too our imaginations. However, for me, it left me with an empty feeling.
oh please, Im so tired of getting hooked on a tv series just to find that it has been canceled It is getting to the point as to why bother to watch anything it will get canceled but yet gossip girl still goes on strong why dont they let sci-fi take over they took over Merlin which I like just as well I hope they can find another channel to pick the show up and I liked Trama as well but its also been canceled duh who would have thought
What a loss! With so few inventive shows on the air, this will sorely be missed.
I can’t believe they would not renew this show. This is one of the few shows I watch weekly, looking forward to each new episode. There aren’t any good fantasy shows around like this one. Hopefully, they will find a way to keep it going. THe show would be sorely missed if it’s canceled.
Like one of the previous posts pretty much all that is on is horrible reality programs …I call them garbage! Finally they come up with a great fantasy action series and for sure the dumb crowd would rather watch some stupid biggest loser or idiot housewives from some county. I think that most of the people I know watch LOS on netflix .They should count all those people too.They would find a much larger following of the series then.
I found LOS online and have been a fan from the beginning. I don’t watch TV as most of the programming is so bad. I also miss LEXX.
If you are loking for another fun series to watch .
Netflix has the British series of Robin Hood…. the show is full of action .
Not quite as good as LOS but better than commercial TV.
I can’t believe it! They cancelled Legend of the Seeker just when it was getting good. Season 2 and the last few episodes of Season 1 were finally starting to become cool and like the books although they took parts from all 11 novels. I didn’t like that; nor did I like how they changed so much. Especially about the part with Richard Rahl being the brother of Darken Rahl. He was supposed to be the SON of Darken Rahl and not the brother. Nevertheless, the second season was awesome!!! They so better make a season 3.

I have only recently discovered Legend of the Seeker on Netflix. I am hooked and would be very disheartened to see the series end. I was planning to set my DVR to record it for the 3rd season. Hopefully I will have the chance to do that! I am planning on reading the books now, at least they can’t cancel those! Laura Stein
i lllllllllooovvveeeeee the seeker and i am pissed of that they cancelled it was the best show i have ever seen.allso best acting,great caraters but best of all was the story .The way that ricard all ways tries to help but allways ends up fighting some kind of monster.my whole family and most of my school watch the seeker and they love it.i hope scifi bring back the seeker because they have let a lllllllllllloooooottttttt of people down

I’m so mad! I loved legend of the seeker it wasn’t corny like a lot of Sci fi shows are. The story line was great and the acting was really good too.
