Though the FOX network has fewer primetime hours to fill than other networks (15 vs. 22 hours), they’ve certainly burned through their share of TV series. Here are the ones that won’t be back for the 2007-08 season:
Drive – The Nathan Fillion series was pulled after four episodes. The remaining two will air on July 4th. Unfortunately, the road race won’t be completed.
Happy Hour – Fox aired three episodes in September and one episode in November before pulling it. FOX has said that 13 episodes have been completed and may be released on DVD at some point.
Justice – The courtroom drama was pulled and returned to primetime several times in 2006. Of the 13 episodes produced, 12 have aired in the United States. It won’t be coming back.
The Loop – The sitcom was given a 13-episode second season order but it was then reduced. The return was also delayed until June 10, 2007. It won’t return for a third season.
The O.C. – The network cancelled the drama series back in early January and the last episode was completed on February 2nd. The series finale aired on February 22, 2007.
The Rich List – This game show was cancelled after just one episode. The single episode aired on November 2, 2006 and was cancelled along with Happy Hour.
Standoff – The drama is expected to return on June 8th after a six month hiatus. There are eight unaired episodes from the first season. There won’t be a second year.
Vanished – Fox pulled their mystery serial drama after nine episodes. It was supposed to return but they opted to bring back Justice instead. The remaining four episodes were released online but few viewers felt satisfied with the storyline’s rushed resolution.
The War at Home – The family sitcom ended its two year run on April 22, 2007 after 44 episodes. There won’t be a third season.
The Wedding Bells – The David E. Kelly series was pulled after five episodes. Production was shut down after the seventh was completed. The two remaining episodes aren’t expected to air.
The Winner – Six episodes of the sitcom were produced and all aired to low ratings. The series won’t be returning.
Returning series include: 24 (renewed for two seasons), American Dad, American Idol, America’s Most Wanted, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Bones, Cops, Family Guy, House, King of the Hill, MADtv, Prison Break, The Simpsons, Talkshow with Spike Feresten, and ‘Til Death.
Though Nanny 911 and Trading Spouses are not included on the Fall or midseason schedules, FOX has included them on their list of returning shows. Stay tuned!
War at home is one of the best shows ever, Its crap that its ended, because unlike the oc which needed to end due to samey storylines, the war at home has got lots of mileage left. I know theres only 100 odd post on here complainning but if you went out on the street in the uk and asked people who watch E4 (War at home broadcaster in UK) they would probably all say war at home is wicked cool fantastic, and yes hillary is fit!!!
ok, vanished is a wast of good tv time. But I saw some episodes of Justice and it was really good. Way better than CSI Miami or Judge Judy, this was a perfect mix between Court and Investigation:)
War at Home rocked. I am british and I catch it on E4 after Hollyoaks. It is such a shame that awful corporations like FOX cancel excellent shows for there own fault of apparently juggling the US timeslots around. US TV looks so stupid, over here it’s simple and everything is advertised evenly. BRING BACK THE WAR AT HOME!
what about futurama i kno itscoming to comedy central but still…
The War At Home rawked! I miss it 🙁
Bring it back, please?
You have got to be kidding me. War at home was one of the most painfully awful shows on TV ever. Convoluted family values and miserable production. War at Home should have been canceled immediately. My suspicion that there is an incredibly alarming amount of tasteless people in this country, seems to be right on. Why else would these pointless, dull crapfests get multiple seasons when deep dark clever shows like Firefly only got one? And at least Drive had Fillion. Rapaport is not a good dad character. Ugh all these people praising War at Home… I am going to… Read more »
War at Home was great. Stupid to cancel!!!!
Cant believe fox didnt pick up The War At Home for a third season. My wife and I have watched every episonde faithfully. I noticed that it had been a long time since it was Tivo’d and figured something was wrong. Once again I’m surprised to hear that fox pulled such a boneheaded move. No War At Home, yet we can still catch are you smarter than a fifth grader? Whose making the decisions over there? YIKES
Thank God for Netflix! I know I’m late, but just discovered THE WAR AT HOME. What a shame it was cancelled after 44 shows. The public never had a chance to really hear about it. I took it to work where we watched it on the mid shift. No one had heard of it either. We were all rollng with the humor and things we could relate to. SHAME ON YOU FOX!
I wrote FOX an email when I found out that “Justice” was not comming back. Like it would do much… But I had to!!! I see how many ppl feel the same!
PLEEAASE!!!!
BRING JUSTICE BACK!!!!!!!!
PLEEAASE!!!!
BRING JUSTICE BACK!!!!!!!!
PLEEAASE!!!!
BRING JUSTICE BACK!!!!!!!!
PLEEAASE!!!!
BRING JUSTICE BACK!!!!!!!!
THE LOOP – Never watched when on TV – only on Demand on Web but it was SO FUNNY and smart that I watched all episodes at least 3 times. Never knew the show was on until I sirfed what was available on-line. Of course it, like all of the other truly original shows such as Drive and Wedding Belles disappear for mindless story-lines such as Prison Broke or go cheap with so many adult cartoons like Family Guy – they’re funny, I watch them, but they ARE cartoons. Come on, FOX, REWARD originality and creativity by giving it a… Read more »
What the hell fox, Justice was the greatest show in televison history, if you didnt juggle the show so much..maybe we would be able to keep up with it!! or should i say would have…but still i say bring it back because with the shows that are on now…it would be a hit…plus as much as i’d hate to say it…house is in a slump…so you would get some good ratings if you brought it back…..thanks for a good thing in a small dose fox (13 episodes) atleast let it finish…
