Each hour-long episode of MY 600-LB. LIFE tells the powerful story of one morbidly obese individual – many who are home bound, relying on care just to live day-to-day – as they make the courageous decision to undergo gastric bypass surgery. The popular series documents the life-saving, but traumatic experience of surgery, the ups and downs of struggling with addiction and dependence, and the inevitable impact that change has on personal relationships. High-risk surgery, addiction, dependency, fear, pain, helplessness, victory, pride – this story is as much about heart as it is about weight loss.
We’ll meet Nikki Webster, who at 33-years-old weighs 650-lbs and her food addiction is killing her, but she feels powerless to stop the fast food binges. Ashley Bratcher, a 26-year-old mother of a five-year-old son, weighs 725-lbs. Her son is one of her primary caregivers, bringing her food and helping with daily chores. And, Sean Milliken was traumatized by his parent’s divorce leading him to turn to food for comfort. Sean’s weight has reached a dangerous level: 900-lbs, barely being able to stand for 30 seconds. In a high risk gamble to save their lives, MY 600-LB LIFE follows 12 Americans as they travel to Houston, TX in desperate hopes to undergo surgery.
After hundreds of pounds of fat are shed through methods ranging from gastric bypass surgery to strict dieting and workouts, there is still a constant reminder of a person’s once much heavier self. SKIN TIGHT takes an intimate look at people who have lost extreme amounts of weight and will go through extensive surgeries to remove up to 50-lbs of excess skin. Some individuals have six-packs, but it remains hidden under mounds of skin, leaving many feeling even more uncomfortable than when they were obese. With cutting edge technology and reconstructive surgical options, experienced surgeons will cut away massive amounts of skin, creating a full-body transformation. The reveal will not only change each subject’s self-image, but will change their lives forever.
We’ll meet a variety of candidates including, Brian Flemming who astonishingly lost 400-lbs., but is now left drowning in pounds of extra skin. He’s become very active, but his current body is preventing him from achieving his goals of running an Iron Man marathon and becoming a personal trainer. Ariel McWhorter lost 260-lbs., but she now has trouble singing and having an intimate relationship. And, Tim Bauer who lost 228-lbs now motivates others by giving talks about his inspirational weight loss story. But he struggles with personal relationships with his daughters and the ability to be intimate with his girlfriend.”

Would love to be on this show. Have lost over 100 lbs, but still feel fat because of all the yucky skin.
I lost over a hundred pounds but have loose skin. I have been married to my husband for eight years but do not feel comfortable having him see me naked. My stomach bothers me most and I wear big clothes to cover my body. I would love to have an opportunity to have surgery.
I had the gastric bypass surgery back in 2011 and feel really good except for the extra skin that I have since losing the weight. I wish I had the opportunity to get the extra skin off so I can finally get a chance to see my real self! I believe I have about 30 to 35 pounds of extra skin.
Hi I’m had the gastric bypass done in 1991 I weighed 3 2 lbs when I had my surgery I now weigh 160 and I know I’m carrying at least 30 to 35 lbs of loose skin my breastfeeding sag and I feel like I’ll never get to see who I really am until. Hey, My name is Robin and I’m a 27 year old University student. I have lost over 260 lbs to date and cannot truly see my progress because of all of this loose skin. It is truly disheartening to work so hard and to look in the mirror and think you were more attractive before. I have literally removed my full sized mirror because I cannot handle it. I am so thankful I am healthy, I love my lifestyle and I am actually on track to be a physical education teacher, I want to inspire as many people as I… Read more »
I had bypass surgery in 2004, little did you know that body looks worse now then before surgery. I am much healthier yes, I lost 189 lbs and have kept if off for the past 12 years. Even after having a baby 5 years ago. I would love to be able to look in mirror and see me, not my skin…………..
I had gastric bypass in 2003 and have since lost over 200 pounds. Dealing with the extra skin is very depressing to me. When I was bigger, I couldn’t find clothes to fit properly. Now I’m much smaller, I still can’t find clothes to fit properly. It takes a huge toll on my self esteem and I look at it as an embarrassment. Not to still after losing the weight be able to wear a swim suit or even a short sleeve t-shirt is horrible. I would love to be on this show. Unfortunately insurance won’t cover any type of… Read more »
I had gastric bypass and am having issues with flabby as kin. Yeast infections under belly flab. Could you guide me to get help? I do have Medicare but am ready to do what is needed to correct this problem.
Please allow me to discuss my concerns.
I also have lost a lot of weight after a gastric band (125+) I am very happy about the weight loss but so sad at how I look, from arms, breast, apron, and legs. It is so cruel to look this way after working so hard. I know I could pay for the surgery but I’m on social security and can’t affort do it. I would love to be on the show . Thanks for the chance to add my comments
I have lost over 150 lbs. myself. Is there a way to make the show ? I really need the skin tight work done. Thank you 🙂
