Back in 1995, the trial of OJ Simpson dominated the news and many faithfully watched the television coverage every day. Now, FX is making it the focus of the first season of their new American Crime Story TV show. Will people feel compelled to watch a recreation of the trial? Will the show be a hit or a flop? Will the series be cancelled or renewed for a second season (with a new case)? Stay tuned.
American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v OJ Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin. A retired American football player/football commentator/actor, Orenthal “OJ” Simpson (Cuba Gooding) is accused of murdering his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson (Kelly Dowdle) and her friend, Ronald Goldman (Jake Koeppl). The series is told from the perspective of Simpson’s legal team. The cast also includes John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, Nathan Lane, Evan Handler, Dale Godboldo, Rob Morrow, Kenneth Choi, and Bruce Greenwood.

What do you think? Do you like the American Crime Story TV series? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Great perspective and really good. This is one of the shows that got me back on t.v.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one, but I’m hooked! They did an amazing job allowing the viewer to see the case from so many different angles and perspectives that I didn’t consider when I tuned in back in the 90’s. One doesn’t think about the attorneys or jurors and everything they endured during that time. And they’ve done an excellent job at keeping it factual! Way to go!!! Looking forward to next week’s episode already!
I have watched this since the beginning and every day when the real trial was going on. The actors and actresses are excellent and I can’t believe how much Marcia Clark was criticized for her appearance and child rearing. She was constantly being scrutinized by some of the defense attorneys especially Johnnie Cochran and especially the media. She played heroin junkie Sally in “American Horror Story: Hotel” and she was great in that too.
I watched and enjoyed the first episode of the “People vs. OJ Simpson” and am looking forward to watching the second episode. I think Cuba Gooding Jr., David Schwimmer, Courtney Vance and John Travolta did an excellent job. It made for good TV.
I hope FX continues to air additional American Crime Stories. As long as the talent is there, I believe people will watch.
