The ratings for America’s Funniest Home Videos have been dropping for years and host Tom Bergeron has announced that this will be his final season as host. Will the clip show be cancelled after 25 seasons or will it be renewed for season 26? Stay tuned.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed AFV for a 26th season.
Final season averages: 1.32 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.14 million total viewers.

Last year comparison: The 24th season of America’s Funniest Home Videos averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.4 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the America’s Funniest Home Videos TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a 26th season?
How can I send in a video clip for the show ?
I will like to see the program cancel. Without Tom Bergeron in not going to be the same’
From Broadcasting & Cable magazine dated 11/12/14:
Creator and executive producer Vin Di Bona isn’t ready to reveal who will take over as host of the show after Tom Bergeron steps down at the end of the current and 25th season.
“I think maybe starting next April of May we’ll start talking about who might replace Tom,” Di Bona said.

In other words, no sign of the show being canceled… yet.
That’s presuming that ABC will want to renew it. Di Bona is the seller. ABC is the buyer.
I’d forgotten the show was still on until my son was born four years ago. Now I’m thrilled it’s still on, as it’s genuinely funny, and it’s something we can all watch, no matter how divided our attention spans. I would hate to see it go at this point — and that vault of exclusive material has GOT to be worth a mint.
Cancel! Don’t laugh at all when watching it
That’s because you’re anonymous !
Please keep it on. With so much bad going on we need all the laughter we can get.

Our family watches AFV almost every week. And the reruns are always great when we need a good laugh. Its a show you can always have on when the kids are around. It’s refreshing to watch good clean tv.
CANCEL…. please. (It’s long overdue.)
This was NEVER funny. Lots of idiots on here.
Nothing funny about the videos, especially the ones where people get hurt. I really wonder about people who find that funny.
I have loved and been watching Funniest Home Videoes ever since Bob Saget was the host of the show when I was a kid. I sometimes still watch Funniest Home Videos and I like the host Tom. But I do not want them canceling the show. They need to renew. But I still liked it better when Bob Saget was the host.
Caught a bit of the ABC Sunday night news and they had a “news segment” for AFHV. They tickled it as “Secrets” but there were no secrets, just shameless promotion for one of their own. I think you’re right – it’s toast and should have been toast a long time ago. Haven’t watched it in years, I can’t take watching folks deliberately risking life and limb for the sake of their 15 seconds of fame.
