TNT continues to move towards gritty programming as evidenced by their new Animal Kingdom drama series. Previous attempts haven’t worked out very well in the ratings so it remains to be seen if this one will be different. Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Animal Kingdom revolves around a 17-year-old named “J” (Finn Cole) who moves in with his deceased mother’s family — a Southern California clan of criminals. Heading up the family is J’s unpredictable and manipulative grandmother, Janine “Smurf” Cody (Ellen Barkin). The rest of the cast includes Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Daniella Alonso, and Molly Gordon.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Renew definitely. A different drama, but it keeps me coming back. Barkin is fantastic. The rest of the cast are great as well. Can’t wait til the new season.

I loved Season 1 of Animal Kindom. Ellen Barkin was terrific as the matriarch. Loved seeing Shawn Hatosy & Scott Speedman both in a new series. Caught on to this after it was ona couple weeks, caught up on demand & am glaf I did. I think 10 weeks is way too short for any series and to have to wait til next summer gor season 2 is awful. Please consider bringing it back for anothet 10 weeks for a mid winter replacement.

I feel like this whomever likes adult action and a great plot keep you guessing keep up the good work writers call me ******* however with what is left to watch Id rather have Animal then psyco batchellorette or batchelor or for that matter of fact This fun escape show then what they call television nowadays
I love this show! Edge-of-your-seat suspense, the drama mixed action keeps your eyes glued to the screen. WTF moments that leave your jaw on the floor and the urge to clap at the same time with appreciation of the overall cast performance and emotion.
