FX is done clowning around. The cable channel has announced that the Baskets TV show is ending with the current batch of episodes so, there won’t be a fifth season.
A black comedy series, Baskets stars Zach Galifianakis, Louie Anderson, and Martha Kelly, with Alex Morris recurring. The surreal series centers on rodeo clown Chip Baskets (Galifianakis), his twin, Dale (Galifianakis), and mother Christine (Anderson). In season four, Chip decides it is high time to move out, but has a hard time adapting, despite the help of Martha (Kelly) and a life coach.
The fourth season of Baskets is averaging a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 334,000 viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 23% and 18%, respectively.

What do you think? Have you enjoyed the Baskets TV show on FX? Are you sorry to hear that there won’t be a fifth season or, is this the right time to end the series?
I wonder why there weren’t more viewers for this great show and why there was such a big drop-off in viewers? We really loved this show but I cannot blame FX for cancelling it under the circumstances. Well another great show gone. Why didn’t FX do a better job promoting.
Baskets is funny and makes great commentary about American life. Sorry to see it end.
Darn! This show was so captivating. My 94 year old mom and I couldn’t wait for each episode. The ensemble was terrific. I am sad. FX was not a regular channel for us until we started watching “Baskets.”
I am VERY sad to see this intelligent , quirky , witty, dark but funny show go. Was so unique and captivating. So sad!!
Thanks to Zach, Louis C K, Louie, Martha and all for one of my favorite shows of all time. Brilliant!
I love this show! Please keep going.
I have enjoyed every episode of this wonderful unique show. The characters evolved every season, and it has been a joy.
Man the Baskets story is far from over! How can you end it like that?? These demographics aren’t basing the studies on people that have cut the cord and stream this show online. I know some people might frown upon that but it’s true. Give the Baskets a chance to finish the story !!
I loved this show; however, the writing for Season 4 was not at par with the previous seasons. The forced departure of Louis C.K. took away the spark that fueled this show’s great scripts. Very sad.
Disagree totally
I love this show. I’m sad it’s cancelled.
We are sad over here… always looking forward to watch these. Great acting and wonderful crazy storylines. The real talent seems to be ignored now a days. Thank you zack, Louie and friends for a great 4 seasons!
i’ve absolutely loved watching this TV series… All the characters were just wonderful and fun to watch I looked forward to it each week… I’m very very sad that this is coming to an end… Any chance for a change of mind? w
Love the show! Really bummed they are ending the series with season 4. Thanks to the wonderful show writers for an amazing series over the years!
This just breaks my heart, another great show with so much talent ending way too soon. Is there really nothing that can be done? I’ve really grown to love all these quirky characters.
