TV show description:
A dark comedy, this TV series revolves around a struggling clown who lives in Bakersfield, California.
Chip Baskets (Zach Galifianakis) dreams of being a classically trained French clown. Unfortunately, things don’t work out for him when he goes to study in Paris — thanks to financial difficulties and an impenetrable language barrier.
Chip moves back to his hometown and is forced to confront his past while working as a rodeo clown. He also must deal with his judgmental family.
Chip competes with his siblings for his mother’s approval and affection. Christine Baskets (Louie Anderson) is the matriarch of the Baskets clan. She cares deeply about appearances and finds herself constantly embarrassed by Chip and his identical brother, Dale (Galifianakis).
Christine is so embarrassed by them that she adopted a younger, better set of twins so she’d have something good in her life to brag about.
Martha Brooks (Martha Kelly) is a low-key insurance claims agent. She believes that she’s Chip’s friend but he disagrees. In truth, Martha’s the only one that tolerates his rude and angry behavior.
Penelope (Sabina Sciubba) is a bohemian artist that comes from money and Chip’s French sophisticate wife. She doesn’t love him and isn’t shy about reminding Chip that she only married him to get her green card.
Eddie (Ernest Adams) is the owner and manager of the Buckaroo Rodeo where Chip works. To be honest, he’ll hire anyone who’s willing to risk their health for a low-paying job. Still, Eddie sees something in Chip and often offers him cowboy wisdom to help solve his problems. He promotes Chip to “head clown”.

Episode #40 — Moving On

What do you think? Do you like the Baskets TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a fifth season?
I ADORE this show! An amazing mixture of comedy and tragedy. Of all last season’s new shows, it’s the only one where I keep asking myself, “When’s Baskets coming back on?”
I love this show and I miss it!!!! Please hurry up and bring it back….not only am I dean…but I’m the janitor and the teacher….lol….please bring it back
I have been missing this show so I had to google to see if it has been cancelled. I can’t wait for more episodes. Please
Love, love love this show! It’s so nice to see Mr. Anderson again. Louie’s character is Brilliant! The dynamics between Zach & Martha are entertaining and darling. I hope Penelope comes back into Chips life. I like Chip but Dale can jump off the bridge.
I love this show, Martha is the best!
I love this show! The dynamics between the characters is so cleverly depicted and the writing is brilliant. If Louis Anderson doesn’t get an Emmy domination for his portrayal of the mom, I’ll be very disappointed.
My son and I find it very entertaining.
This show is the best , the actors should be winning Emmys soon.
Oh my GOODNESS! I love this show. I love this kind of show. It is funny because all of our lives have humor in it’s everyday trials. I love the sadnesses too because we all have numerous let downs everyday and seeing it this way seems to take the power out of those dings at our heart. Whoa, got a little dark there…! Lol.
Strangely funny show. I like it.
Such great dark humor. Very different show. The whole cast is great.
My husband and I love this show. All the actors are great, and the storyline is unique. Zach is really good in this role. We look forward to watching it every week. Love Louie as the mom!
Hilarious! Don’t cancel this show! I love the dark humor and Louie Anderson is great as the mom. So funny!
BEST series on TV at this moment. DO NOT CANCEL.
I watched the first episode and my first thought is as that Chip needs to be slapped for not getting a real job so he can pay his bills. His Mom is just too hilarious! A good show is stupidly funny!
I hope “Baskets” continues.
