As expected, ABC has cancelled their summer series Black Box after one season of 13 episodes, reports EW.
Black Box revolves around a beautiful and brilliant neuroscientist (Kelly Reilly) who’s hiding the fact that she’s bipolar. The rest of the cast includes Ditch Davey, David Ajala, Terry Kinney, Ali Wong, David Chisum, Laura Fraser, Siobhan Williams, and Vanessa Redgrave.
The series debuted in late April to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.87 million viewers. It was a mediocre start for the dramatic series and the numbers got progressively worse as new episodes were released. Towards the end of its 13 episode run, Black Box dropped to a 0.6 demo rating with 3.72 million.
The last two episodes aired on July 24th, leaving the main character’s professional fate up in the air.

ABC I am done watching your shows! You just had to go cancelled black box which was a very good show and all because some people didn’t like the show well people if you didn’t like the freaking show then don’t watch it and let the people who does watch it but instead you put the show down which made the ratings go down and that’s why they canceled it! I’m not watching no more ABC shows unless you bring back Black box! It deserves to be renewed!!!!!!!

I loveeed this show! one of the few series i was hooked on. really sad that they stopped airing it.
I love this show..abc sucks….they always cancel the good ones. At least put one more season up..I know ppl who didn’t know this show was on and loved it ….bring black box back…tired of these fakes ass reality shows…
Of course it’s cancelled…it was too smart and dealt with real issues. I LOVED that show. Was looking forward to a new season!
ABC has been a disappointment more than a couple times canceling the lying game and black box if vampie diaries hart of Dixie of greys anatomy is cancelled I will stop watching ABC all together
Well once again ABC disappoints! They FINALLY got me back to ABC with “The black box” and they go and do this. Somebody at ABC needs to be fired!!!!!!!!! I have not watched ABC since they made the VERY, VERY DUMB decision to cancel “Flash Forward” A GREAT……AMAZING show they canceled several years back. Not everyone likes all this reality crap that’s on the air these days. But executives think we do and they are just ramming it down our throats and I refuse to deal with it!!!! I loved that show!!!! It was freaking awesome!!!
I am very very disappointed in this cancellation. It was cutting edge and the story lines could have gone anywhere! It also showed support for disabilities as well as new developments in a very little understood area–the human brain. It seems the only thing that gets renewed is the endless cycle of MEDIOCRE (OR WORSE) reality shows and/or the dribble of celebrities’ daily lives. Duck Dynasty and Dating Naked? Give me a break. I am so disappointed. There was criticism about depression and the portrayal in the show. I felt so drawn to the show. I love it. I think NBC will show it?

I am upset to hear that is canceled. It was different and intelligent. The mind is complex, so it was interesting to see how our mind potentially works visually. Please bring it bk.
I am very sorry Black Box was cancelled;I was wondering where it was. I think it was a very interesting and intelligent show with a remarkable main actress. Seeing Kelly Reilley in that show makes me want to see the film Calvary. I had not heard of or seen her before. Marianne hart
