ABC continues their search to find a new hit family sitcom for Wednesday nights. So many have failed and been cancelled. Will Black-ish be the next to go or will it be a success in the ratings and be renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On Black-ish, patriarch Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) begins to wonder if his success has caused him and his family to lose touch with their roots. The rest of the family is played by Tracee Ellis Ross, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, and Laurence Fishburne.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Black-ish for a second season.
Final season averages: 2.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.10 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Black-ish TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Show seems racist IMO. Lost interest fast.
Terrible. Stupid. Lazy writing. First of all the episode Hope should never had aired. Second. The episode Johnson and Johnson. So stupid. This show used to be a bit funny now its just sad. The father picks stupid problems to fix that aren’t even really damaging to his family and does the most idiotic things to try to solve the problems he himself created to maintain their blackness. This show just needs to be cancelled immediately. O yeah and Im black.
All I’m seeing in these comments are people complaining about how Blackish tagged racist to cops. Ill admit the writers did go about this the wrong way but they are telling us the truth. There is major racism still out in the world… especially from people with power. We all need to admit that this stuff exists and stop it.
I have loved Black-ish , the cast the stories, but the episode about policemen was too much. I watch programs to help me , for a minute forget, my problems, the worlds problems, I will not be watching your show again.I was offended, by the way I’m a white 72 year old great-grandmother, I’m telling you this because I’m guessing you don’t want white people to watch your show. Good luck with that.
