A&E has cancelled their crime drama, Breakout Kings after two seasons and 23 episodes. It seems this case is closed.
Breakout Kings follows a squad of U.S. Marshals who make special deals with prisoners to catch escaped convicts. The cast includes Laz Alonso, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Malcolm Goodwin, Serinda Swan, and Jimmi Simpson.
The series debuted in March 2011 to a 1.2 rating in the demo with 2.8 million viewers. The ratings declined in later weeks and the first season finale drew a 0.8 rating with 2.01 million.

In March 2012, the second season debuted with a 0.8 rating with 2.11 million. In that episode, many viewers were shocked to see Alonso’s lead character Charlie abruptly killed off. Alonso later told fans that leaving the show was not his idea.
Over the course of season two, the ratings for Breakout Kings further declined, hitting a low of a 0.5 rating with 1.27 million. The finale aired last month and A&E has decided they don’t want a third season.
Of the cancellation, Malcolm Goodwin (Shea on the series) tweeted, “So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It’s been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next.”
The news comes soon after co-creator Matt Olmstead was signed to run NBC’s new fireman drama, Chicago Fire.

Just finished watching and I agree with all comments this show should continue. Well written well directed and the cast was perfect. If this comment means to bring breakout kings back I would tell all my friends to send in theirs
This show was very suspenseful and well made.
Why do people think Netflix had control over this show? Just because it’s on Netflix doesn’t mean they own it. Overall, I enjoyed the show, it wasn’t amazing, but it was good. I just wish it didn’t end on a cliffhanger and that the season concluded properly.

Just look at the poll. Almost 7,500 votes and 97% say it shouldn’t be cancelled. Regardless of TV ratings it has good ratings on Netflix. I think they should seriously considering buying the show and continuing it.

I agree that it’s not Netflix’s fault but it’d be cool if they bought the show and continued it. I’ve heard nothing but good about it and absolultely loved it myself. The Netflix rating of it is good so regardless of its poor TV ratings it would do well on Netflix so maybe they should think about saving it.

I read many comments where many feel advertising/marketing play a huge role in the failure of this series. I never watched Netflix, never watched much TV. Until my 6 year old granddaughter introduced me to Netflix. I bought into it because I felt Netflix was good TV. I didn’t have to watch the Trash on TV. Netflix is a good alternative to TV. Breakout kings is amazing, it was just starting to make its mark. Charlie leaving was a good move, I wish it would have had a longer life. I enjoyed Breakouts Kings as much as SONS (S.O.A). It’s rare to have a series one is able to get lost in. Breakout Kings, would have shown profitable in the 3rd season ,if it only right? I wish it would have had better advertising. I kept seeing this pop up on. Netflix and finally decided to watch it . Over the last two days I watched season 1 and 2 because I never heard about it . This show is absolutely amazing the characters are GREAT actors they inspire you to want to act. I just couldn’t believe they killed of Charlie so fast that was the only bad thing. I just started watch this movie and it kept me up like 3 sometimes 4 in the morning when I should be sleeping. This movie has me hook. We need season 3 especially to see what the ” animals” are going g to say to the wicked.
Guys over the pas 4 to 5 years great series have been made and cancelled. The truth of the matter is I am sure that everyone in here has great taste when it comes to series. It’s just too bad the directors don’t seem to share the same point of view. And if there aren’t any idk WARCRAFT or maze or any other fairy tale land science fiction they won’t keep.
