Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

Yes, definitely have a season 5! My husband and I watch it every week! Wish it were on weekly for a whole season instead of just a few months! Love that there’s no bad language! Great job, Hallmark!

Yes there should be a fifth season. The show is a good, family friendly show. I watch it every Sunday night when it airs. Love, Love, Love the show.

I absolutely think there should be many more seasons. I think this is one of the best shows that has ever been made. I always look forward to Sunday nights, I only wish the show was longer than a hour….but who doesn’t? I really hope that this wonderful show will go on for another season, I am sure everyone else like myself have to know what happens with Elizabeth and Jack, those two are a match made perfect, that is what you call true love between two wonderful and beautiful people.
