Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

A must and we need to hear from jack or you are going to lose hearties support. Story line going fine if it is going where I hope sent a suggestion last year and so far I see writers developing story line in that direction. Great show dont stop now
Ratings continue to rise each year for When Calls the Heart because of the blend of well crafted characters and wonderful writing. It’s near impossible to find shows that bring out the richness of prioritizing one’s values and demonstrates living life with a moral compass…something today’s world desperately needs. I can’t imagine a valid reason exists to cancel such a program when it touches the hearts of so many. Many of us are turning to the Hallmark channel more and more because you’ve continued to answer our need for quality programming. Stay committed to this cause and everyone wins!
It absolutely should be renewed! It is the best TV show on! It is family oriented and the storyline is very morally sound. I love the Hallmark Channel, but WCTH is my favorite!

Yes, it should definitely be renewed!! My husband and I look forward to watching it every Sunday evening. It would be very sad to remove a show has good family values. It’s a show that I can show my grand-daughters and not worry about anything inappropriate being shown.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV. How refreshing to have a good moral show on TV!!! I really do hope Hallmark renews this show. Am so happy to have Hallmark channel where I am not afraidl of my grandchildren seeing something inappropriate. Please come through for us Hallmark.
I think season 5, 6, 7 ,8 ,9 ,10, …. are needed for renewal.

Please renew When Calls the Heart – it is so refreshing – a great family show. And Rosemary is so funny! Elizabeth and Jack’s love story is wonderful – Abigail and her newly adopted Cody & Becky – Carson becoming the town Dr. – all the characters are just fantastic! Please keep it going for many more seasons!
Absolutely “When Calls the Heart” should be renewed! It’s one of our favorite programs…wish the season were longer…could do without the other two that take its place.
