Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

In my opinion, one of the main reasons why WCTH has such a big fan base is because of the romance. Hallmark is famous for its love stories and to have a TV show that can do what those movies can do on a weekly basis makes it all the better! So yes, as a Heartie, I will say loud and proud: RENEW FOR SEASON 5!!!

I KNOW RIGHT?! I didn’t get a chance to watch season 3 :’-( and I thought for sure they got married in it! When they still weren’t married I was like “What on earth are they waiting for!? It’s a huge breath of fresh air to see two people in love not living together or jumping in bed though. EVERY show on tv should be like this! Some of the commercials these days make me blush. And no I’m not a grandma- I’m the ripe old age of 36 lol
Renew, renew, renew. Where is mounty Jack? We needed to see him on the season finale. Make the season longer and make sure Daniel Lissing returns. We love everyone and the show is just so engaging.

Absolutely renew!! It’s lovely, with ‘real’ pacing, and time for character development. And you can’t leave us hanging with Mounty Jack’s fate.

Yes! Renew it but lets have a little more action. Let Jack & Elizabeth get married already. A lot of storylines can be written around them as a married

It should be renewed it is a great show something to look forward to watching but Jack needs to come home and marry Elezebeth.
Thank you for renewing When Calls the Heart. This series is the best refreshing series on tv. There is no profanity and thankfully good morals are what makes this series a wonderfully calming show. The religious aspects was also appreciated. God is love. I like how all the such special relationships are made and created. I would like to watch this while I’m growing old every week.This show reminds me of tv in the early days of tv like Ozzie and Harriet and shows like that. I am a avid fan.
