Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

Yes they should renew for a fifth season. I love the show and being able to watch a wholesome show with values is hard to find these days.

Please renew When Calls The Heart! I literally look forward to it all week, so does my daughter and her family. It is one of the truly family oriented weekly shows we can watch without reservation. I’ve read all the books, and although it doesn’t follow, it’s still the same genre and I just love it. We love all the characters, everything about it! We’d be delighted if you cancelled The “Good” Witch…of which there are none….and put When Calls The Heart on then too!
The Good Witch isn’t terrible. It is another show my family can watch without me saying,something like, “Why did they have to throw that in? Perhaps the outfits and the long yucky kisses. (The ones that we all know could lead to the “martial act” – the giving of a true gentleman and lady in the bond of marriage who intend to be true until death). We DESPERETLY NEED MORE SHOWS THAT PROMOTE THE MESSAGES OF MODEST, CHASTITY, and other values which will help in making unselfish, moral, well-thought out decisions which can affect us or others for the remainder… Read more »
For sure! Please WCH is a good holsome show that we have few of. I watch it with my daughter who also loves the show. I can watvh it with her and not have to worry about what might be inappropriate for her. Thank you for tjis series! ❤
Without a doubt one of the best family oriented shows on TV. Love the show , and own all of the first three series on DVD..plus the orginal movie. Plan on purchasing season 4 when it becomes available for order.

Yes,Yes,to 5th season. I just love this show. Watch it every week, even on vacation I was sure to have it recorded. I agree my grandchildren to love the show, it shows them what life was like back in the days when their was no video games and I-Pods. How just playing in fresh air and making up games can be fun. Best show ever. It shouldn’t be a question that there should be season 5,6,7 etc. So has a fan of Hallmark keep renewing this show. Being back Jack.
