Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

Excellent show! Never knew about it until I saw it on Netflix. Watched all 4 seasons and waiting anxiously for 5th season to begin on February 18, 2018. Cast excels in their roles. A good quality program for viewers of all ages. Hallmark channel always bring good movies and shows. Thanks for quality viewing options!

Good clean, good morals. My 11 year old enjoys and I’d much rather this than just about anything else. But you will let them marry won’t you? We can’t continue to enjoy the suspense endlessly.
Please continue this series. Great, clean, good morals I would rather have my 11 year old watch than anything much else, and she loves it too. But surely you will let them marry won’t you? If there is no wedding next series, noone wants to be held in eternal suspense!
