Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

I have watch this since the beginning and find it very refreshing. Please renew the next season I too am not ready to see this show end, I think their is a lot more stories to tell.
Yes please. Season 5. My 7 year old and I enjoy watching it together and it’s so refreshing to watch without cringing at the unnecessary profanity and innuendos that are so common in so many “family” shows.
We watch on Dish Network and reruns on Netflix. And we want a two hour season finale next time!
There is a shorage of feel good, decent shows. Just introduced my 80 year old mother to the show, shes hooked. Renew!

Yes there should definitely be a season 5. It’s a fantastic show, great writing and acting and the scenery is beautiful. I am not ready to see this show end
